Re: Chris Arreola returns on June 6
Arreola's comeback trail in 2010 - 2012 was actually a rather impressive series of decent journeymen and mediocre gatekeepers mixed with a high degree of activity. Though Arreola's current run is much less impressive, I've got to respect 2 fights within 3 months. Hopefully they don't intend to fall far short of his previous comeback trail.
But, IMO, there's no way that it's Washington or Breazeale. He just struggled mightily with Curtis Harper. His next opponent has to be a relatively easy target, like Alexander Flores or Jason Bergman.

Depends on which title rankings he wants to climb up to championship fight, beating Andy Ruiz Jr fight would probably bring him up in many rankings, i Think he can bet that guy, Ruiz is high in rankings but nothing special.

He will never be an atg. But he is fun to watch.

I'll give him that.tiny_acres wrote:He will never be an atg. But he is fun to watch.
A limited fighter and now more so than ever, but he fights hard and gives entertaining interviews.
Re: Chris Arreola returns on June 6
He is not longer listed on the card, what happened?

Either Dominic Breazeale or Gerald Washington would be a decent opponents, but I have a feeling it will be someone easier.
I believe Breazeale is fighting an undefeated guy named Consuegra on that same card. Yeah, I expect Arreola's opponent to be a lot easier.
Re: Chris Arreola returns on June 6
I'd love to see Arreola against Chisora.
The build up, the weigh in, the fight, would all be fun.

Unless his wife is wagging her phat ass around the ring as a ring card girl, I don't care.

Perhaps he busted a gut from eating too many cheeseburgers?
Re: Chris Arreola returns on June 6
It won't be a competitive matchup... Just a name to showcase him while he waits for Wilder
Re: Chris Arreola returns on June 6
WHO CARES? How many times is this guy going to get a shot and let everyone down. He's had 2 shots at the title now and hasn't even come close. He should leave now while he's still got some marbles. I'll never get excited for a Chris Arreola fight again.
Re: Chris Arreola returns on June 6
Arreola is a gatekeeper. Nothing more, nothing less. Just a guy.

agree with everything said above , except the part of him being a gatekeeper , that is just too generous
Re: Chris Arreola returns on June 6
Just got it from a source well-placed in the Arreola camp that his next opponent is Jimmy "Bagboy" Bergachevski, a stock clerk at the local Piggly-Wiggly. Jimmy turns 16 in three weeks.

Not everyone is going to be a champion. And not everyone is going to be a top contender.
But Arreola is a decent fighter and a joy to watch. He s worth keeping an eye on

He's like an American version of Derek Chisora and now they are just below world class that the contenders need to beat to prove their level

You nailed it. Wilder vs. Breazeale? Yeah, it could happen.thatllbeme wrote:He's like an American version of Derek Chisora and now they are just below world class that the contenders need to beat to prove their level
