Algieri was a better opponent, his (controversial) win over Provodnikov beats anything by Gavin. Though both were expected to win, Amir struggled more than most would have expected him to.
Khan had the better win, Brook looked the better of the two.

Re: Who's win was better Brook or Khan
Khan's win was definitely better, Gavin is nowhere near world level.
Re: Who's win was better Brook or Khan
Skybet have priced up a match between them (should it get made), they have made Khan favourite.
Khan 4/9,
Brook 7/4
Draw 25/1.
I would have it closer between them IMHO, but would be fascinating fight, and a genuine PPV. Would be interesting to see Brook deal with Kahn's pace/work rate. Very hard one to call.

Great price on brook. The bookies have this wrongcmdenny wrote:Skybet have priced up a match between them (should it get made), they have made Khan favourite.

Id be putting a decent bet on Brook winning by stoppage.

Brook had the more skilled opponent in Gavin.
Algieri is feather-fisted yet he shook Khan several times.

Well considering the conversation is about whose win was more impressive, it isn't even relevant to the conversation, let alone the end to it.rhino222 wrote:khan is vulnerable3, brook is not. end of conversation.
But regarding who wins if they were to fight, there's a lot more to it than Khans vulnerability.
First up I'd say Amir has come a long way from the guy who ended up sparked out by Prescott or Garcia for that matter.
Hes brushed up his defence after working with Hunter so he doesn't walk onto so many shots, he's less prone to bouts of bravado when he get tagged and he certainly looks like he carries a shot better up at welter.
Is he still vulnerable? Yes, but theres a lot more to it than that.
Khans speed would be a factor, Brooks power would be a factor as would his accuracy.
I'm still leaning towards Khan but can make a case for Brook and certainly reckon the bookies still have it a tad wide in Amirs favour

Oh dear Eddie. People in glass houses... Brook is such an attraction that you have to have two other world title fights, AJ and two very competitively matched domestic bouts to push it over the PPV line.

Khan picked a guy who he thought he could blow away and do a better job than pacman,if khan wants mayweather i can see mayweather getting a long awaited knockout on his record cause khan got hit with that right hand all night and if algeri carried power khan would of needed a pillow. Brook/hearn picked a guy who they thought they could do a number on,brook/hearn succeeded in his job khan never. Khan thinks he is better than what he is and i think we have seen the best of khan wer as brook is world champion and we havent seen the best of him imo
Re: Who's win was better Brook or Khan
Khan fought a good fighter at world level, Brook had an easy night against a slick but always out of condition frankie Gavin.
Re: Who's win was better Brook or Khan
I genuinely think Brook would flatten Khan. Too powerful and accurate.cmdenny wrote:Skybet have priced up a match between them (should it get made), they have made Khan favourite.

Re: Who's win was better Brook or Khan
In my opinion Khan beat the better opponent but I think his performance lowered his stock while Brook's kept his the same.
Re: Who's win was better Brook or Khan
A lot of people thought Gavin may last the distance but would be a landslide, so maybe Brook raised his stock
Khan didn't even come close to what Pacman did, so loses his stock
Not a good win for Khan

that's about right - and if they fought today I'd take brook, whereas I'd previously sided with khan - he got caught too easily for my likingcrusader wrote:In my opinion Khan beat the better opponent but I think his performance lowered his stock while Brook's kept his the same.
