Lloyd Honeyghan did it in America against Don Curry is another mention. Plus Nigel Benn beat Iran Barkley stateside at Middleweight.

I would say Randy Turpin for the quality and status of the opponent and what was at stake.

It certainly is. It wasn't that long ago it was considered an impossibility to do it once in Germany without a KO - let alone twice.

Rigo beat Ramos in USA to win the WBA Belt.
Roman Gonzalez won 2 belts in his career in Japan against Japanese fighters (Niida & Yaegashi)


Vitaliy Klitschko beat Herbie Hide in London to win the WBO HW Belt in his first title fight.
Lennox Lewis beat Tony Tucker in Vegas in his first WBC defense, after he was made the champ when Bowe relinquished.
