He has probably peaked in terms of the level he's reached so maybe retirement is an option? He can be proud of what he's achieved. I haven't seen the fight yet. Was it a bad beating?

He retired at the end of the 4th with an elbow injury. It wasn't a beating by any means, he held his own throughout, but Klaas was definitely getting on top of him by the end.

So a rematch then maybe when he recovers?

Why did he give up the Commonwealth title to fight for these silly belts?

I think he's overachieved and he's a really good fella - his uncle used to be on the door at Niche years ago, he used to watch out for me, a decent family.

I thought the same, maybe Hobson wanted to go down the international route to get Burkinshaw a ranking like what Eddie always does

It was a shame it ended like it did because it was shaping up to be a belter,Mboyane was starting to break Ross down before the retirement

For anyone who doesn't know, the card is on channel 5 catch up on demand,,the Wale-Davies fight was a corker too

The studio on the other hand was plain bizzare, with fish and chips, lager and bananas, poor Jamie Moore must be cursing Sky for not giving him a call

The studio set up was like one of those late night chat shows that used to be on Nuts TV etc and you could tell that the presenter and Keith Senior knew naff all about boxing.

Let's be fair.

Ross is a great lad, but 18 months ago most people thought he was finished. After he was blown away by Gavin McDonnell, his own trainer and manager at the time told him to retire.

Dennis and Ryan did a great job in bringing him back. Nobody gave him a prayer against Jason Cunningham last year, but it served as a spring board to resurrect his career.

Last night, he reverted to type and stood in front of his opponent when he didn't need to.

Good though it was to see boxing on free TV, the punditry set up left a lot to be desired.

Honestly, I can't remember. I had a good beer buzz by then.

I got fed up of all the fish and chip banter and talking to rugby league players about white collar fights by then. Five cans of lager made it more tolerable.

Yes. He was sat on the panel as an expert. Apparently being a Rugby League player, and having lost the one white collar boxing contest you ever had qualifies you to be an expert on Spike TV.
