PPV Was Worth It.

I understand people's worries of what this means for future strong cards but when you ask the simple question, was the nights entertainment worth the extra fee? In my opinion, the answer's yes.

Lacking a true PPV star but who cares when you've got great fights at a high level including great comeback's (Ryan & Blackwell), destruction (Joshua & Brook), heart (Ryan & Mitchell especially) and unearthing a gem (Selby).

The Manchester and Liverpool cards look strong too. Hopefully Birmingham-esque cards are a thing of the past!

It all depends on what you want really. Im sure there are many people happy. Many people too who watched it via free online streamings sites too were almost very happy. I was only interested in the AJ fight so wasnt going to purchase an event for 1 bout.

Agree with both of the above - it was a brilliant, brilliant card and if you could watch and enjoy all of the fights it was well worth it, but if you were only interested in 1 fight or wanted 1 big headline 50/50 then it probably wasn't one for you.

Didn't pay, would have been better if it ended after the Mitchell fight, Joshua-Johnson and Brook-Gavin weren't up to much as fights. The rest of the show was good but there was nothing on there that would make me pay for it, before the show and after watching it.

Thoroughly enjoyed the card. Best nights boxing we've had in a while IMO. Sky have a bit of making up to do though. They can't just put every decent card on PPV.

Would the bill have taken place without PPV? No. If people don't buy the PPV those sort of bills won't exist.
Could the individual fights have been made without PPV? Yes. But they would have to be spread over about 4 normal sky shows.
I guess you pays your money (or don't as the case may be) and take your choice.

I paid for it and thought on the whole it was worth it.

As far as sports go I only really follow boxing and football so don't subscribe to Sky Sports. Any decent Sky cards I stream and if Leeds United are on telly it gives me an excuse to go to the pub.

I can understand people being a bit cheesed off if they are already paying full whack for Sky sports and then have to fork out on top of that.

But that's up to the individual I guess.

Yeah agree. That would be much better. I only pay for Sky sports for the boxing as I can take or leave the football.

I watched the Spike TV freeview card.

Fights were alright, but the analysis made me want to ask for my money back.

Yeah it was defo worth it. My favourite show for a long long time, it lived up to the hype. Bill's like that I will pay for, bill's like Bellew vs Clev I won't. So hopefully this is the sign of the future.

This is the main point. Was the PPV, taken in isolation, worth £15 of your time? Almost definitely. But taken as a whole, including the Mayweather v Pacquaio fight & regular Sky Sports subscription, did Sky's boxing coverage for the month of May deserve £55 of your hard earned cash? Not as far as I'm concerned.

Bang on. It didn't cost £15. Sky costs a hell of a lot more than that and as such it should carry such cards on a regular basis. People should never be pleased to pay extra to watch these level of fights. PPV, if it has to exist at all, should be reserved for mega fights only, not standard title fights.

for me PPV is for exceptional fights not just a big card the reality is that the top of the bill had one fighter top 3 and one about 15 ..

I bought this PPV and it was worth it.

Bitch all you like but there were some cracking fights and genuine 50/50s. And, importantly, genuine world titles at stake.

Hearn cops a lot of shit, sometimes quite rightly, but also credit where it's due. Good card, good fights, good entertainment....

I loved it,probably the best PPV card I've seen ,it didn't have the marquee names but for competitive fights it was second to none

Just imagine the pull Boxing would have if there were regular cards like that on Sky Sports.

It was a great card. To me, the question of whether a fight is worthy of PPV is simply answered with the numbers it dead.

I fully expect most of the winner and plucky losers to be dispersed onto normal Sky shows, and those that rise and shine will be on a new PPV show later on in the year.

I always find it amazing boxing fans seem happy to be mugged off.

I'd love it for Sky to make a premiership title decider between Chelsea & Man United a PPV some day at £18 just to see the response.

Brook vs Gavin was worse than Haye vs Harrisson as far as PPV farces go. The worst part was Kell strung him along as if he was embarrassed for Eddie Hearn for making such a grossly mismatched fight then having the audacity to make it a headline PPV.

Joshua did a good job of beating down a heavy bag live on pay-per-view. A heavy bag that didn't even bother bringing his team over to the UK for, for an enthralling 4 minutes of covering up. I hadn't realised that laughing stock was billed as co-mainevent. It was a nothing fight, i guess making Joshua a SkySports cash cow ranks well ahead of world title fights.

Selby-Gradovich wasn't much to much either, a mismatch, but credit to Selby, outstanding talent.

Mitchell vs Linares was foty stuff, great value on it's own but again, shouldn't have been outwith normal subscriptions.

Ryder-Blackwell was a decent domestic scrap too.
