Re: British Top 30 P4P June 2015
I'd have Selby at 6, McDonnell at 8 and Groves at 9.
Re: British Top 30 P4P June 2015
Pretty good Horse. I'd have Selby above Groves though.

Re: British Top 30 P4P June 2015
Still can't see why Groves is ahead of the likes of Lee & Selby. Top 10 for GG is very kind. A draw against Quillin in the US & Selby beating a recognised champion are surely better results than 2 ko losses to Froch! The rest of GG career is no better than either fighter.

The ending to Selby's fight was a bit dodgy.Boxerbeetle wrote:I'd have Selby at 6, McDonnell at 8 and Groves at 9.
If he'd beaten him properly then he'd probably be higher.

I wasn't as impressed by Selby as most people were.Ian1973 wrote:Pretty good Horse. I'd have Selby above Groves though.
I think he should rematch Gradovich and beat him properly.
Re: British Top 30 P4P June 2015
He won all but one round and Gradovich was noticeably slowing down.Horse wrote:I wasn't as impressed by Selby as most people were.Ian1973 wrote:Pretty good Horse. I'd have Selby above Groves though.

Its not Selby's fault the doctor stopped it.
Re: British Top 30 P4P June 2015
i think i'd swap khan and degale ,khan didn't look great at the weekend
Re: British Top 30 P4P June 2015
Eubank Jnr and Frankie Gavin too high, Derry Matthews and Flannigan too low.
Re: British Top 30 P4P June 2015
its a good list.
id drop fury and groves one each and Selby up to 7th
ive also got to find a place for terry Flanagan
solid list though

Re: British Top 30 P4P June 2015
Can't see how Cleverley doesn't even make the top 30, but pretty good.
Re: British Top 30 P4P June 2015
Lee almost lost to Horta about a year ago. Selby didn't beat Gradovich properly.freddydoesdallas wrote:Still can't see why Groves is ahead of the likes of Lee & Selby. Top 10 for GG is very kind. I think Groves would beat Lee and Selby in P4P fights.
Re: British Top 30 P4P June 2015
It's not Froch's fault that Foster stopped the first Groves fight early, but it still didn't make it a proper win.keirw wrote:He won all but one round and Gradovich was noticeably slowing down.

Gradovich deserved his chance and it isn't unrealistic that he could have turned things around.
Re: British Top 30 P4P June 2015
DeGale didn't look great in the middle rounds himself though.stevedoc wrote:i think i'd swap khan and degale ,khan didn't look great at the weekend
Khan stays above DeGale for now because of his much deeper record.
Re: British Top 30 P4P June 2015
If's but's and maybes - Selby won every minute of the bout until it was stopped - very different from the first Froch v Groves contest.Horse wrote:It's not Froch's fault that Foster stopped the first Groves fight early, but it still didn't make it a proper win.keirw wrote:He won all but one round and Gradovich was noticeably slowing down.

Re: British Top 30 P4P June 2015
Poor reasoning. Lee has gone from strength to strength and is considered one of the best at his weight. Selby was ahead on the cards and performing fantastically.Horse wrote:Lee almost lost to Horta about a year ago. Groves is European level
Re: British Top 30 P4P June 2015
Maybe Eubank Jr is a bit too high, his record is pretty shallow.palooka wrote:Eubank Jnr and Frankie Gavin too high, Derry Matthews and Flannigan too low.
I really don't think Gavin is too high.
Mathews was fortunate to get the decision against Luis in his last fight and Luis is only ranked 68th by BoxRec (accurately or not). Mathews also lost to Ormond just under 18 months ago and was getting a hiding against Coyle before a come from behind knockout just under 2 years ago.
Flanagan can re-enter if he beats Zepeda in July.

I just wasn't as impressed with Selby as most others, but fair enough you rate him higher.LancashireLoyal wrote:its a good list.

Flanagan only fell out because he's been a bit less active than most of the others at the bottom of the list. He'll probably be back in again soon.

Froch hasn't retired yet and he is still the clear No. 1.los2 wrote:froch is a commentator......degale selby and lee all above khan....
Khan has a much better overall record than those guys. Someone like Algieri would be a good win for that lot, but Khan is (and should) be held to a higher standard.
