I think we can safely say that Gradovich wasn't really worthy of being called fighter of the year.

The IBF indeed named him as their top belt holder.

Doesn't mean he was worthy of it. He didn't even beat the mediocre Jayson Velez in his defense prior to facing Selby, which makes the label of top champion hard to accept. Also, while Selby was clearly winning I didn't at all see the masterclass many are talking about. Rounds 2, 4, and 5 could've fairly gone to Gradovich in my opinion (if someone thinks I'm wrong give me specific reasons from those rounds and don't just say I have no idea what I'm talking about), and I believe that some people were persuaded by the markedly biased commentary, which largely glossed over Gradovich's moments of success.

All that said, at this point I would rank Selby ahead of Groves. Groves did well while he lasted against Froch, but on balance I think Selby has the stronger recent resume and form.

His best win is over an old (and i mean old) glen johnson. If he was top 10 before then how does 2 stoppage losses plus two poor performances in rebuilding fights justify 7th. At a real push i could just about accept 10 but he should be 11-15. You do a disservice to the othe British (&irish) boxers.

If he ends up winning his world title and beating degale then stick him wherever you want. Until then, he is a former British & commonwealth champion who has failed at genuine world level. No better than bellew, cleverly & mitchell

I've also had Bellew, Cleverly & Mitchell at No. 8 or above at some point.

That's a nice little award, but he clearly wasn't the actual best IBF champion and I'd say he was much closer to being their worst than their best.

If we're talking the last 12 months then Selby does have the stronger record.

I think losing competitively twice to Froch is better than beating Gradovich though. Froch would annihilate Gradovich with ease in a P4P fight.
