Fox Sports One Card Tonight

Post by diddy »

These guys need to step their game up with ESPN Friday Night Fights no longer doing fights. Jayson Velez vs a trash main in the main event doesnt cut it. Velez is an OK fighter. Nothing wrong with him in the main. But to put an OK fighter in with a clubfighter is poor form for a main event.

Christian Gonzalez 9(9)-0-0
vs
Darryl Hayes 3(1)-4-0

Good test for puncher Chimpa who was down in round 1 of his last fight
Gonzalez couldn't solve a simple fighter in Hayes who only wanted to survive and hold

Velez is an on and off fighter. He can look great, he can also look sloppy. When his legs are strong and his footwork dynamic, it complements his straight punch grinding in combos well.

He's got that good liver shot on the inside

He is going nowhere. In a tight battle with a club fighter bum.

Nothing tight about that fight. He sent him down in round 2 and is winning almost all rounds except one. Ramirez just showing heart and Velez lost his KO sting about half way.

Velez has zero defense. None whatsoever. When he fighters a real fighter he gets hammered.
