Per Roach
http://www.BS.com/roach-cotto- ... out--91934?

"Geale showed that it cost a lot to make agreed upon weight".

He also said that Miguel will climb to 166 pounds and stop Geale.

My question is: if it really did "cost a lot" to Geale to make the catch weight, what will Cotto prove if he beats him ???

Cotto and Roach are pieces of crap. They even admit saying that they know the catch-weight will weaken Geale, and it was a calculated weight so he comes in weaker. Geale has not made 157 in 8 years. Reminds me of the Pac vs Oscar fight.

I hope most boxing fans are smart enough to NOT praise Cotto if he wins, and fully praise Geale if he wins. You know, I really used to like and respect Cotto, but for some reason after two wins he seems to have forgotten about getting his ass handed to him by a welterweight and a not so great junior middleweight. Cotto has an ego so over-blown now I doubt if him and Canelo could ever come to terms.

I picked Geale to win, not that I think he will, but just hoping for it to all backfire on Cotto & Roach, and get rid of these ridiculous catch - weight title fights.

He looks worse i thought he would. His neck doesnt look thick enough to hold his head up. Looks a lot thinner than he did for golovkin even though its only 3 pounds

Geale looks like he just came out of a POW camp.

I hope he somehow wins though, just to shut Roach up. I'm sick of his stupid trash talk.

I just watched the video of the weigh in - I don't think Geale looked too bad TBH. Super pumped for this fight, hoping that Geale can pull out the win.

He's of aborigine origin and has been very proud about to as shown in the buils up to the two Mundine fights. Neither fighter is European. Most want Cotta to lose due to weight issue and the avoidance of his mandatory, Geale just so happens to be the other guy in the ring

Cretin.

^ very much this. Fvcking about with the weight is the new slant-the-playing-field du jour. Either you're naturally twenty pounds heavier than the other guy & they put you on racehorse diuretics to "make weight" for like ten seconds the day before the fight (& you then get back onthe pasta IV drip) or you just make some poor fvcker come down another three pounds if you think it'll weaken them (which, 'cos guys are fighting at such unnaturally low weights for their bodies, hurts like hell 'cos there's no more to come off).

I agree. Lots of fighters especially at lower weights often look way worse. He had a normal look of a man who had to work on cutting weight.

I have Geale as a clear favorite. People are once again carried away by a hyped name it seems to me. I wont be too surprised if Cotto gets a decision, but this midget stopping Geale is near impossibility.

I picked Geale to win mainly because I hate Cotto & Roach for the handicap weight. Not a smart pick, but oh well....I won't change it. What will Cotto do if he fights Canelo? Knowing Roach he will get Canelo as close to 154 as possible. Same with GGG, but doubts if he ever does that. I sincerely hope both Canelo and GGG refuse any handicap weights for Cotto.
Let him fight the fringe contenders. A couple of other guys he won't fight are Andrade, Lara, and of course Trout, who dominated Cotto. Charlo brothers and Vanes M. would tune him up as well, imo. Bringing 154 guys up might make them stronger.

Thing is, it's almost impossible to gauge how much Cotto has left, imo. He looked all surprisingly effective winning the title, but Martinez could barely walk...& I have indelible images of Cotto looking like he wanted to be elsewhere against Trout in my brain.

I tell you what though, if Geale turns up tonight & has the same idea he had against Golovkin... He'll make Cotto look terrible but will not get the decision in NY.

I have always liked Cotto, but he has stayed too long and compromised his integrity. While it is true that boxing is to blame for the weighin situation and the catch weights, individual fighters should choose to do what they can to rectify the situation. Adding to the problem is inexcusable.

I hope that Geale wins dominantly and retires Cotto. That might happen even if Cotto is gifted a close decision.

A year ago Cotto looked impressive defeating a weeble wobble, but in Cheato II, v a guy with one eye, he was beginning to get walked down when it was stopped.

Geale is not as done as Cheato or SMartinez were. He is a true MW. He is faster than Cheato.

If not for the catch weight I would confidently pick Geale. Of course, if not for the ridiculous catch weight, the fight would never have happened.

Hopefully, Geale wins by stoppage and ends FMJs dreams of fighting for an MW belt against a guy who he has beat weighing in at under the lmw limit.

War Geale!!

Martinez looked better then Geale when he cut the weight and Cotto looks stronger and healthier now then he did a year ago, looks like he has been pumping iron.
