Any news on Price's opponent for June 26th?
Any news on Price's opponent for June 26th?
After Sauerland lost the purse bid to Teper's team it is has all gone quiet?
Teper, Ustinov, Wach and Chisora have all been mentioned as possible opponents.
Anyone know who Big Dave will actually be facing?

4 weeks to go and you'd have to think that the less notice prices opponent has the worse he will be.

Come on, no matter how much rebuilding is needed for Price, there's no justification for him taking on Kim Kardashiansoulboy wrote:sum big bum more than likely , he's a spent force in my opinion

Re: Any news on Price's opponent for June 26th?
I feel for David Price, the guy just cant get any momentum.
It's funny how quickly things change, and is a great lesson for Joshua to observe. Before getting in the ring with Tony Thompson Price was being heralded as the heir to the Klitschko throne, and now if you were pessimistic, you could say he is all but finished, at the highest level at least.
I think he comes across as a really genuine guy and I would love to see him get a decent win under his belt but I have seen nothing from him in his fights in Germany against bums to make me think he is going to get back to anywhere near world level.

"Promoter Kalle Sauerland added: "Fortunately the neck injury is nothing too serious but the decision has been made to withdraw David from the June 26 card."
Bit obvious what's going on here

Either that or Sauerland are happy to go for the Teper fight. I'd guess the former tho.nitro5912 wrote:Joshua in September??danamba7 wrote:"Promoter Kalle Sauerland added: "Fortunately the neck injury is nothing too serious but the decision has been made to withdraw David from the June 26 card."

Re: Any news on Price's opponent for June 26th?
Either a Haye 'injury' and don't want him getting chinned in a warm up fight before he goes in with Joshua on the big show in September or if it's genuine he is going nowhere fast now and doesn't have a realistic future in the higher echelons
Re: Any news on Price's opponent for June 26th?
Joshua will flatten Price.

Surely a prospect with less than 15 fights v a guy who has been stopped twice by a 40 year + fighter isn't going to be PPVScottDetonator wrote:I smell a PPV card...danamba7 wrote:"Promoter Kalle Sauerland added: "Fortunately the neck injury is nothing too serious but the decision has been made to withdraw David from the June 26 card."

I'd have a bet on it being less than 120 seconds,Price would be like a rabbit in the headlights.
Re: Any news on Price's opponent for June 26th?
I think it could be a matchmaking mistake on a par with putting Price in with Thompson to have the first opponent of Joshua to be one who would come to win, is naturally substantially bigger than him and could KO him with one flush punch.
Why take that risk?!
What do they have to gain beating a guy stopped twice in a row by a 43 year old.

Re: Any news on Price's opponent for June 26th?
If that is what it is and they are lining him up for Joshua in September I am surprised.
Having said what I said above, Price can still punch, and could be a case of who lands first in that fight. Although I would expect it to be AJ.

Re: Any news on Price's opponent for June 26th?
On the surface it seems odd they would put Price in with Joshua, but then again Price doesn't really have a record to protect and 'earning a shot' at a trinket would presumably require him to take threatening fights anyway so....cashing out???
