Re: Is Mayweather/Brook a possibility?
Morally, this fight should be a no-brainer, but commercially it just does not add up.
Brook is not even well known in his own house, let alone the USA, so the fight would be a hard sell.
We all know that FMJ thinks in $$$ these days & a Brook fight would not do the numbers he would like.

I told you yesterday I see no point in arguing with an idiot, and nothing has changed since then. Have as many last words as you see fit, but I don't see any point in me communicating with you again. You lack the self awareness to comprehend your limitations and the stupidity of some of your arguments.fergusg wrote:I detailed historical events that actually happened, which is the reason why I claim them to be fact.david1963 wrote:For those first 16 fights, he was over 150 lb for five of them. As no titles were at stake for those fights, it made sense not to boil down to the welterweight limit. Brook has had two fights as a light middleweight since early 2008. That's two out of 19 fights. What Eddie Hearn said at the time is irrelevant. He talks a lot. It's part of his job as a ticket seller.
Warren may well have been "considering arranging" a title fight between Brook and Bundrage. Bundrage might have been interested, too. That doesn't mean any deal that might have been considered to be proposed would have been attractive to Brook. Or any other challenger for that matter. Unless you have personally seen a draft contract or memorandum of understanding as an absolute minimum you have no idea what the deal was and whether Brook was right or wrong to turn it down. I might also refer you to my earlier point about Brook being a welterweight, not a light middleweight, but I'm not entirely sure you could understand the difference between fighting above the championship limit for non-title fights and being in a higher division.
You shouldn't say "Fact" and then use the words "apparently" as evidence. Logic doesn't work that way. Again, unless you've seen the contract etc. you don't know what you're talking about. So, we don't know why a title shot against Bradley was declined.
No one in Britain thinks of Matthew Hatton when you say "Hatton". You're right about Matthew Hatton being anonymous - I'd forgotten he even existed.
Brook's promoter could have offered to pay Dan to step aside. Dan was under no obligation to accept any such offer. Unless you were privy to negotiations between Brook's People and Dan's ... look this is getting boring, you can't say stuff like this time after time unless you actually know for a real fact what took place.
Are you trying to say seasoned veterans can't learn anything more? If this is another of your so-called facts you might as well join Boko Haram and spread your message with them. In fact, if you truly believe no one can learn anything useful once they progress past a certain state, then I can only guess it's based on your own failings.
"What more could he have learned, when he was already considered a seasoned veteran?"
I hope I never read anything anywhere on any subject as stupid as that. I'm not trying to be nasty, it's just one hell of a thing to say. And because it's late where I am, I have to confess it's taken me rather a long time to realise I've been arguing with an idiot. There's no way I can compete at that level.
The last time you responded to me, you tried to undermine my post by arguing using guesswork and assumptions.
Instead of being argumentative, why don’t you perform your own due diligence and actually research the validity of my claims?
If you’re going to do this, try to address each and every single one of my bullet points in isolation… I think you’ll be surprised at the accuracy of my posts.
It really does surprise me that people manufacture "excuses" for their favourite fighter, even though they know very little about their background!

There's a lot of that going on around this forum, I have two idiots Boxerbeetle and Tomasino calling me stupid for posting something factual as well.fergusg wrote:I simply posted a couple of harmless statements on this thread that were a factually-accurate reflection of reality... and you have the audacity to call me an "idiot" for explaining historical events that actually took place in the real-world?
So you claim my so-called "arguments" are "stupid", when all I've done is to submit a couple of innocuous posts quoting facts?
It really doesn't take very much to cause you to be overcome with negative emotions like pain, anguish and rage, does it?![]()

Brook appears to be heal turning on the catwalk like a real punk lately and it's not a great look. I think everyone is sick of the slap fight he's having through the media with Khan. Seems to be a snapshot into what the future might be if Brook holds onto this title for a significant time. In negotiations with Brandon Rios, Brook already outlawed his boxing gloves and lowballed an offer that was pretty pathetic. Your name isn't Floyd and he's the only one that can get away with some of this stuff.
When Brook beat Porter, I became a fan. After seeing what this kid is made of now, i can't wait to see him face planted into the canvas.

You're blaming Brook for Khan not wanting to fight him? After seeing Khan take on Algieiri is there any doubt why he is ducking Brook??
This entire debacle between the two of them can be solved easily and possibly lead to a fight with Floyd for the winner (especially if it's Amir over in Wembley).
What does Floyd have to gain from fighting Khan? If he fights Brook at least he gains another title and though Floyd has already dropped the belts, he'd easily be considered by nearly everyone to be the Undisputed WW King.

Everyone says Boxing Fans are idiots.
This thread probably shows why.
Can't believe people are actually entertaining the idea.

#1 do you NOT think that Brook is calling the shots? #2 Khan doesn't belong to any promoting outfit so he also chooses. This is a Diva on Diva right now. Both guys are mistaking themselves for Floyd. There's a big difference here. Floyd's choice makes an instant millionaire so he has got to choose carefully. By looking at Khan and Brook's last fight, becoming their challenger doesn't mean nearly as much so they should just fight each other already because i'm sick of hearing about it. Brook is undefeated and current world champion so I'm not sure why he's so worried about Khan anyway. Do your own thing, Brook. Just shut up and fight a worthy challenger. Both these guys think they Floyd and it's hilarious.jujigatame wrote:I'm pretty sure Brook hasn't made anyone an offer. Re: Is Mayweather/Brook a possibility?
I would rather see Floyd fight Brook after seeing what Algieri did to Khan at this point but i'm just sick of Brook following suit with this Khan attitude like he's the A side of everything. Brook is calling out Khan left and right and then the next day he's saying he'll never fight him. Then he's picking out fight dates he knows Khan can't make. Floyd has NOTHING to gain by fighting either one of these guys and i'm just sick of listening to these two punks clearly avoid fighting each other but continue to talk about each other. Just move on.KBB wrote:caldo2025 wrote:Brook appears to be heal turning on the catwalk like a real punk lately and it's not a great look. If Algieri confused Khan that badly imagine what Floyd will do. It will be a 12 round clinic performed. Khan's blaming his new trainer now for looking bad. I can't stand this guy and Brook seems to be tailoring his act around the same act. Sick of it.

All I'm saying is, I'm pretty sure Kell Brook isn't dictating how much money Eddie Hearn is offering his opponents for fights.caldo2025 wrote:#1 do you NOT think that Brook is calling the shots? #2 Khan doesn't belong to any promoting outfit so he also chooses. You do realise Hatton is probably worth in excess of £30m? Not sure he needs to work on the doors.caldo2025 wrote:With the amount of h-job's Brook gets from people on this site, i'm starting to buy into this BS hype machine by association. Let's all pump the brakes for a little bit and give this kid a little room. Brits, ok...your boy got a big win a few fights ago. Big upset over Porter...good. I loved it. It was surprising and it was an upset...i love upsets. But let's not wake the bear here. I was ok with the Brook/Khan drama even though I feel Khan will beat him but calling out Floyd? Simmer down a bit and let's not get all excited. Remember Ricky Hatton, that's all i have to say. I think he's a bouncer right now at a bar in England. IF you want Brook to stick around then let the kid move up gradually to the best around and earn it. He's more liable to stay at the top if you don't push him there. Floyd will win every single moment of a 12 round fight with Brook, the kid will never be the same.
I actually love the Idea of the Brook vs. Rios fight IF we get the Rios that showed up his last fight. Then we'll see how good your boy is. If he can drop Rios or win decisively then that's a really good win because Rios is no joke if she show's up prepared and makes weight comfortably.
Floyd beats Brook, of course. No way does he beat him so Brook isn't the same again after! Floyd doesn't destroy anybody like that.

That would absolutely be the funniest thing ever.NateJR wrote:I'd like to see floyd fight brooke in his final fight only because I would love to see Khans reaction.
Re: Is Mayweather/Brook a possibility?
Not that Floyd destroy's people, he so thoroughly defeats them that they are never the same. Robert Guerrero and Victor Ortiz were shells of their formers selfs after facing Floyd. Ricky Hatton was never the same boxer. When an undefeated boxer who never tastes a defeat in the ring takes a fight with Floyd and loses every single round, that does more damage than a knockout. The welterweight pool is thick with talent so i'd love to see Brook face some of them first. Thurman/Brook would be great. Brook/Khan? sure. Brook/Broner. We don't need to see Brook/Mayweather. I hope it doesn't happen but it looks possible from what i read yesterday.lillywhite14 wrote:You do realise Hatton is probably worth in excess of £30m? "Brook has looked so much more impressive than Khan lately." Well what do you expect fighting the likes Jojo Dan and Frankie Gavin
