De La Hoya talking comeback. Rumors erupt.

Post by JCS »

Apparently RJJ and Mosley are interested in being opponents... BS claims.

Lord..

Of all places, TMZ is reporting... the sad thing is that they bat a pretty high average on legitimacy, even though they're a filth rag.

dlh could fight one of the lower echelon guys in his stable on one of his own
undercards and generate as much interest as anyone else in the GB stable
could generate against a legit opponent except for canelo, and he would
pocket whatever he would normally pay to one of his legit fighters.
he's only 42, which isn't the oldest we have seen, especially at the lower levels,
and as long as his EKG looked ok, the training could do him some good physically
and mentally. he has welters who he could meet at 154 like jorge silva, alan sanchez,
pablo cesar cano, kamegai, etc. if he felt ok after one fight, he has guys like rosado
who could provide a decent test at 154 without having to sacrifice any of his undefeated
up and comers. if he just has an itch to scratch, it could add a little interest to one
of his lower profile cards.

Having an over-sized ego can be a terrible thing. Its not just missing boxing, its the limelight, the fans, the big stage, and in some cases, the money.
If it were just for the boxing, the old guys coming back would just spar and find out the reason they retired in the first place.

I think it would be entertaining though. Maybe we can have a rematch with DLH vs Floyd after all? :OhYes:

DLH is a true warrior. I don't think he needs the money but he's a helluva brave soul. Y'know I wouldn't be surprised if he lined up a catchweight fight with Golvokin.
The guys is actually crazy enough to do it.

I was thinking the same thing at first. But I think he would have to be suicidal to do it.

Oscar don't do it. You were the tits in your day but now your old. GGG will destroy you.
Remember what an a$s Ray Leanord made of himself against Camacho? Well Camacho hits like Richard Simmons compared to GGG

Well I'm sure his lingerie salesman is upset over this.
He may lose a good customer

Lol I was thinking the same thing. He does like the fishnets I guess. He could wear them in the ring as a distraction. Broner would probably hump him worse than he did Maidana. :OhYes:

Oscar vs GGG could set a new record for the shortest ever come back, lasting for just about 3 seconds.

I'm not Rocket Scientist but I'm certain that this scares the crap out of GGG:

Just put a wig on Oscar and you get this:

I'm also 42 and I can barely run to the mailbox. God Bless him if Oscar can do it but at 42, there's no way. Unless he's been in the gym for a year and feels good. I hope this decision wasn't made on the couch one night with an empty bottle of booze in front of him.

This is what the elite boxers go through when they leave the game and what Floyd is going to grapple with as well. When there's no more cheers or bright lights and no amount of money to substitute for that feeling on fight night, what do they do? Holyfield is still fighting for goodness sake. Sad.

With that said, i'd watch Oscar vs. GGG. lol

By the way, he seems to be a smarter person in the family.

It's sad that a fighter retired for 7 years and probably don't need the money is the only one with the balls to fight GGG.

Saying and doing are two different things entirely.

Oscar De La Hoya isn’t making a comeback, he just misses the sport. And if he did decide to enter the ring again, he would only fight Golovkin if he was being paid handsomely.

Historically-speaking, big name fighters would not face Golovkin, not because of fear, but due to a lack of money for the perceived risk they were taking.
If Oscar does decide to fight GGG.He will be paid handsomely.Oscar is a promoter who has a great following.
He could make 10 million plus with the right promotion for this fight.

DLH said a few years ago that he contemplated a comeback about 4 years after the Pacquiao fight.

Worked out in the gym for several weeks and then engaged in a lengthy sparring session.

He said that the next day he was unable to get out of bed for several more days. Understood that his body couldn't handle boxing anymore and gave up the comeback notion.

Now, several years later and at the age of 42, Oscar surely realizes that a return to the ring isn't in the cards. His body certainly didn't rejuvenate itself now that he's middle aged.

DLH is just ruminating. A comeback---it'll never happen.
