Buglioni v Chudinov WBA Title July 24th ??

Post by Andrew »

Never expected this.........

http://www.BS.com/chudinovs-pr ... -ii--91999

There was supposed to be a press conference for the Markham rematch last week which didn't happen.

Only seen Chudinov v Sturm and based on that he is not an elite fighter but looks a solid fringe level fighter.

Big ask for Frank based on who he has been in with so far. He has a decent fanbase so you would think FW would keep him busy at domestic level instead.

It will resemble a public execution

Can't blame Buglioni for taking the opportunity and, whilst Chudinov may not resemble a PFP contender, he will have far too much for the predictable and up right Englishman.

I was looking forward to the Markham rematch; if Buglioni is seen as high enough standard to box Chudinov isn't Markham the same level?

IMO Frank will be way out of his league and it'll be a painful night for him.

Nice quote for Chudinovs promoter saying "he wants to fight the best out there"

Wtf is the point in fighting Buglioni then?

Buglioni is still domestic class, the Markham rematch is exactly his level right now.

Was gonna say this. Surely a Chudinov stoppage win will be the result here.

He's got to have a go though hasn't he?

He probably gets stopped around to halfway mark but at least the Markam fight will still be there for him afterwards.

I imagine Lee feels a little badly done to, though you can't knock someone for taking their chances it is a little perplexing that on the back of the draw Frank is elevated at least 2 or 3 levels to a title shot. Maybe Markham doesn't have a pleasing style or persona? It'd be good if Frank twisted his ankle and Markham got a call up.

I don't see what he can complain about, Buglioni's taken a miles better fight for presumably more money, rather than fight him in a rematch. Neither deserve the shot but Buglioni's at least beat a couple of decent opponents in his career instead of feasting on Latvians and went in at a much higher level against Khomitsky, got stopped but at least he has some experience of fighting at that sort of level and obviously he has the sort of promotional backing that Markham doesn't.

You've a point though to me the fact that the Markham v Buglioni bout was an uncontentious draw really shows that they are on the same level. I'm not sure if Markham's said anything and it's probably me doing the moaning for him.

Not much he can say really, Buglioni's got a better opportunity so there's no rematch, the benefit of being a big ticket seller with major promotional backing. If he had a contract signed then he'll probably be compensated in some way.

Amazing opportunity for Buglioni and one he has to take but boxing is about levels, and when Buglioni stepped up to this kind of level before he got found out.

I can only see a Chudinov stoppage in this one. Buglioni will do well to take it into the latter stages of the fight.

I am sure Markham would have been given some step aside money, and probably an agreement that the rematch will take place later this year.

Could Markham make middleweight? I think they'll be looking overseas for Eubank Jr's next opponent.

Of course. Its a no brainer for Buglioni to take it.

Just seems a couple steps back for Chudinov. But I'm sure he'll see it as easy money.

Is this for real?

He's not good enough to justify a shot at the British title at the minute.

If this does come off i really hope the bookies buy into his hype as i will be balls deep on him getting stoppe.

Not having a pop at buglioni, guess he can't turn down a 'world' title shot and he's meant to be a nice guy but he is English title level at the minute

I'll be going big on the stoppage too, everyone here should bet at the same time so we don't ruin the odds for each other, this really is free money.

We need to wait until Buglioni's fans start lumping money on him, as is mentioned constantly, he sells a shit load of tickets, for a fight like this he could probably shift 2,000. If half of those put money on him, and because they're casuals they'll think he has a chance, the odds will shift in his favour and Chudinov will be great value.

Hold on lads, we haven't seen the price yet. Is there really a lot of evidence to suggest Buglioni has a gang of high-rolling mugs as followers who will lump on Frank enough to shift the odds?

There won't be any value on Chudinov, trust me.
Home fighter usually gets better odds than they deserve and he sells a lot of tickets, considering he's from a reasonably wealthy background, especially in boxing terms, enough money will come in on him to shift the odds, they won't know anything about Chudinov and it won't be a big market, so a reasonable volume of bets could make a big difference.
