Ticket sales look slow from the web-site and there's not even a seating plan.

For a Man City fan fighting 2 mins from the Ethiad stadium, in a genuine world title fight, it's unbelievable how quiet things are for this.

Why would football fans be bothered about him when he's not a well known fighter.

Everyone claims to be a fan of a club now, the public generally don't buy it but there's always an odd exception

I purchased tickets the moment they went on sale. Floor seats. Looking forward to it.

Just making an observation. And my interest is because this show should be a real success. But it's in a dodgy venue (I was there for Quigg Munroe 1) with seemingly few tickets sold.

And thats a shame.

Fair enough Gareth I misjudged you. If the fight is going to be in Manchester, where else would they hold it ? Can't think of another medium sized arena suitable ? Don't you also think most of the tickets will be sold offline by the fighters themselves ?

Is there a way of seeing how ticket sales are going, when I look at the website it just offers up the price categories, no seating plan or option to choose seats that lets you see how many have gone already.

I've been looking for additionals And checking the price categories for the last 2 weeks, you pretty much get offered the same seats each time. Only the £40 are shifting a bit. But the lack of a seat plan is just bonkers. I've coughed up £170 for two seats and no idea where they are in relation to the ring.

The point about the bottom price ticket being too much is a good one.

It was less than half full for Quigg/Munroe. And atmosphere was very patchy. And that was a bill with Quigg, a big Sheffield contingent for Ryan Rhodes V Rabchenko and a big Martin Murray following.

Anyway, really not trying to be negative. FW has got big fights for Butler (would have gone but was in Vegas for the Thurman fight), Matthews (there for that one) and Flanagan, but how many more if they dont pull in some money?

£40 is standard for an arena show, unusual to see tickets for less than that, £30 is usually the bottom price for a small hall show.

It's a world title fight with some popular fighters on the bill, can't think of anywhere other than the Velodrome, or going outside Manchester which obviously wasn't an option without another fight to headline. The undercard will shift a decent amount of tickets, Butler sells a lot, so do Walsh and Stalker and Saunders is a reasonably big name now.

I don't think Frank's that bothered if he loses money on fights like this, it's all about home advantage for him, done it a lot in the past. If Flanagan wins he'll make the money back and more so it's worth losing a bit of money to get the opportunity for his fighters.

If Flanagan's shifted 1,000 then there'll be a good crowd in with the other ticket sellers on the card, still a month to go yet.

Thats always hit and miss, depending on the arena and or who sells the tickets for that arena. Hearns show in Liverpool will not allow you to see individual seating plan either for example.

Quite tempted to travel up, anyone been to the veladrome before, how do the views compare? I'd imagine with its size and shape be a decent view from anywhere?

Think he was a win one lose one sort of fighter, won 8 of his last 10 before he turned pro though.

No, not an individual seating plan. But a set-up plan. So at least you know where a bloody block is in relation to the ring! Which of course Hearn's show does.

It really has nothing to do with who the promoter is its down to the venue and ticket agent.

That's the layout for the Quigg/Munroe fight and bears no resemblance to the floor tickets they've got on sale now.

Handy enough for the tiered seats though.

Anyway, really hope it's a good crowd in there and that Flanagan can do something special to get the points win. A big ask of him.
