I'll be blunt...anyone that thinks Cotto beats Triple G is an idiot!

the punches landed by cotto on the inside were during trades when cotto was technically
better and knew geale drops his right and was ready for the openings. cotto didn't beat
geale pushing him back. that's not how that fight went at all.

cotto isn't going to fight GGG. not coming forward or on the move or swinging from a chandelier like tarzan.
cotto is not going to be in a ring with GGG, who cotto agreed would be his mandatory in order to be allowed
the geale defense one year after winning his title. the wbc is not letting him out of that mandatory and he isn't
fighting GGG. cotto is fighting canelo next. he said so after the fight. GGG will unify those WBA/WBC titles by
september and then go for the others.
I disagree that Cotto fought as a counterpuncher, sure he fought from the outside but that isn't exactly the same as having to fight going backwards the entire bout. Freddie Roach was screaming at MC to go forward and he did in the 3rd and finished him off in the 4th, with all that said I know that he is facing Canelo next, I heard him say it just as you did.

The problem is that you cannot compare what Geale was doing which wasn't much vs the likes of what a fighter like GGG (who knows how to cut off the ring and make you fight within his range) was doing. I hope that MC beats Canelo so we can see the fight with GGG.

I feel like most that Cotto would be biting off more than he could chew if he graduates to GGG with a win over Canelo. But, I will say that even though Cotto will give up significant size, he will be GGG's toughest test and we'll get to see GGG dig pretty darn deep to beat Cotto. Cotto's seen the lights at their brightest and probably deserves the A side of negotiations with GGG which we all know is Cotto's primary requisite in any of his negotiations so that might be a problem. But as Cotto said after the fight "Sure, why not". I'd watch he damn thing.

Though, i'm pretty darn excited about the Canelo/Cotto bout. A pure pick em' if you've ever seen one. I think that i'm favoring Cotto right now but this fight will be spectacular regardless how each of them got there.

cotto is a great boxer but he is not super Slick and takes quite a few punches. if he faces a physically strong fighter who is aggressive he is having Trouble, see the first mararito fight (exept that GGG is even bigger and stronger).

How many people here give Pac full credit for his 5 or 6 weight draining handi-cap fights?

I am guessing the same dumb fucks that did that are now praising Cotto for doing the same under Roach.
