If they were ever able to work out the mess standing between making this fight a reality, though I have GGG winning this one by stoppage, it would be GGG's toughest test by far in my opinion. I think Cotto's hand speed and footwork would cause GGG trouble early but Cotto would slow down in the later rounds and the accumulation of punches would be too much. But can he land that big left hand and change this fight before that happens? It's a really interesting fight that I would love to see but it will never happen. Cotto wants to make the new weight of the Middleweight division 150lbs. It's time that he's vacates.

We're talking about a guy who couldn't beat Austin Trout and little Pacquiao. GGG will walk through him

WBC is based in Mexico, correct? They favor fighters that will make them the most money. GGG isn't it.

I thought it was based in Panama, or am I thinking of the WBA?

... and if it was located in the U.S. or Europe, would it base on something else ? I am pretty sure some money goes directly into pockets of WBC/WBA/etc. officials. Otherwise, it is hard to explain some outrageous decisions they are making.

Great match up. Cotto is back at the top of his game, and very mobile!

I think Golovkin would win, but Cotto could have his share of moments before he's caught.

Catchweight at 157 seems fair.

Anyone that has cut a lot of weight knows there is definitely a limit of what you gain back when severely cutting. Gaining 25lbs of water weight over-night isn't necessarily a good thing. I don't think Geale would have won if it was at full 160, but it would have certainly looked like a credible win at least.

I think it is unfair for you to take credit away from Cotto based on Geale's weight, if you are going to do that then you have to do the same to Floyd for fighting Canelo at 152 (even though we know it was Saul who wanted it that way).

There is no way that anyone can sit here and tell me that no matter what weight that fight happened at that it wouldn't be the same outcome.
