Buglioni/Chudinov for the title - WHO WINS?

Post by Bard of Boxrec »

Buglioni has got the chance of a lifetime here.

I think he pulls it out in front of his home fans. What an opportunity for the lad. The thing I like about him is his all-action style, he really takes it to you. He's a throwback. It's hard to beat that style when you're that resilient and in the other guy's face all night long.

The issue I see with Chudinov - and the key to Frank winning this fight - is he's very flat footed. Watch him and you'll notice he has quick hands but he is practically immobile. He fights like a poor man's Kostya Tszyu, and I don't even rate Tsyzu as a great. Buglioni can get in his face, chase him down and bust him up. He might have to come through some tough moments, but Frank will pull this out. Chudinov did beat Sturm but Felix was shot to hell. Frank is a lot fresher and will be ready for this. Chudinov can be hit, he is a stationary target, perfect opponent for a busy guy like Frank to look good against.

It's also great that Frank got to Chudinov before Fedor gets inevitably picked off by Ward.

Great opportunity for Buglioni but I just can't see it. I've only seen Chudinov once but he was busy and tough and has more than enough in his armoury to give Buglioni nightmares. Chudinov wasn't the most elusive but neither is Buglioni. He is so easy to hit and I think he'll be stopped again. Good luck to him though.

I think Buglioni can do it. He's rebuilding and seems to have a new mindset. I think he'll have learnt a lot from his fight against Khomitsky and facing a similar orthodox yet less powerful style.

Boxing is all about timing both in the ring and outside the ring and i think the timing of this fight is just right to ensure that Frank can time Chudinov in the ring

I've not seen anything of Chudinov so can't comment how good or bad he is. His record looks good but Sturms the best name on it and he's near the end of his career out his natural weight class.

Buglioni makes hard work of his fights mainly due to his lack of defence. As has been mentioned numerous times he's very easy to hit the Khomitskty, Patterson and Markham fights showing that. If he can keep his defence tight use his jab and box he has a chance. But he's never listened to his corner yet in the fights I've seen so I expect him to get stopped again.

Massive opportunity for Buglioni.....it will be tough but I think he can rise to the occasion and take the title, maybe with some controversial judging.

I really think Frank is in with a shot here, his fans will be going crazy and will spur him on (similar to Hatton V Tszyu), we see it all the time fighters rising to the occasion for a world title fight. Frank has been eating sleeping breathing boxing since his loss and changed trainers, I think the time is right for Frank.

I heard Frank's running out of sparring partners for this one, he's been knocking out top level heavyweights & they're all afraid to get back in the ring with him.

Seriously don't see how he comes off a draw with Markham and wins against Chudinov here, not long ago he was destroyed by Khomitsky and Chudinov is just as good if not better than the Ghost.
I not sure he'd beat Dmitry, the lesser borther in my opinion.
I think Buglioni gets stopped sometime after round 8 but I wish him the best of luck, this is a massive opportunity and I will be rooting for the likable Wiseguy! :bag:

Would love him to do it and think he will! I like the fact he's the underdog for once and the pressure is off, could really get to see his full ability out there in a win/win for him (In my opinion).

Sticks to his boxing and gets an early lead, frustrate Chudinov and make him miss.

Likely to be over a 1000 people their for him which always helps, looking at all these factors I think a points victory for Buglioni could well be on the cards.

Brilliant opportunity for Buglioni, I've heard that he's absolutely flying in the gym at the moment. Great chance of winning this.

I think people are forgetting just how cheap a WBA belt comes these days. Chudinov couldn't take out an old & ringworn Sturm who was north of his career-long comfort zone. Buglioni lost to Khomitsky, but is young and now finds himself in the position David Haye was in after Carl Thompson. Some painful but invaluable experience has been meted out, and now has that experience to draw on in any rocky moments during a title fight. I wonder how well Haye would have coped with Mormeck's assault without his Thompson and Mock frights?

Chudinov is hardly a killer, he's one of a million men holding a WBA belt. Buglioni outworking this guy in London is not an upset of Kell Brook or James DeGale calibre, far from it.

I'm backing Buglioni. I did have a mind that saw sense but the clowns with the argument to the tune of 'oh Buglioni just had a draw at English title level but Chidinov just snuck past a former World champ, yeah, yeah but that former World champ used to weigh half a stone lighter, yeah that'll do, the English title level guy all the way!!!!' has really worked for me.

also you were probably swayed by the fact that Buglioni is living like a Spartan, training like an animal, living in the wilderness like Rocky 4, subsisting on a diet of roadkill and peyote, and chopping a lot of firewood.

No way does Buglioni win this. Its an amazing opportunity, if there ever was a time this would be it.

But there never will be a time unfortunately.

Regardless I'll be rooting for him.
