I think AJ would win. Despite his younger Age and turning pro later he is not much less experienced than wilder because he had a much better Amateur Background als apart from stiverne no worse opponents either.

Wilder has KOed like 20 more Bums but he did not gain much experience from that. the only Thing wilder has on him is the stiverne fight.

To be fair to Wilder he was excellent in the Stiverne fight...far better than I'd seen him before.

He needs to work on his finishing but his right hand is accurate and powerful.

I'd have to go with Wilder...for now...

There's still a lot of questions about him. Can he take a punch? Wilder cracking him could cause him to very quickly turn from the next Lennox Lewis to the next Frank Bruno. Can he handle the pressure of a long hard fight?

What happens when Wilder lands? Joshua has been all offense so far and hasn't had to deal with a dangerous fighter throwing much back at him, so I don't think he's shown that he would largely avoid Wilder's powerful punches and take them well when hit. AJ was also stopped, dropped, and given counts on separate occasions as an amateur, so although Wilder rightfully doesn't have the best reputation for durability Joshua hasn't shown an iron chin either.

There are many unanswered questions that prevent me from predicting this with confidence, and either one knocking out the other wouldn't surprise me.

Despite the ranking, I can't see this fight happening for at least 18 months.

I can't see Wilder beating Povetkin, but that's a great test as to whether he's the real deal or not. I don't put much stock in outpointing Stiverne and knocking out tomato cans.

Joshua still needs to fight a guy who will be in there with the will to win and a punch.

Pretty much this, although I can see Wilder beating Povetkin.

Wilder has at least shown he has good stamina and can take a punch. It would be a foolish matchup at this point in joshua's career. Let it build up a year or two, then see who's the boss.

Joshua. though that's going solely on what I think both guys have. Of course, neither of them have really fought that next level of elite fighters.

My apologies to Bermaine Stiverne, but owning a belt doesn't make a fighter elite, certainly not in this day and age anyway.

Wilder didn't take many punches from Stiverne and very few of the shots that hit him were clean, which reflects well on his performance. He may not have a horrible chin but I don't think that one outing shows that he's free of durability problems.

Watch the fight again . wilder took several heavy shots from Stiverne. I doubt if you watched it. The amount of punches he threw also answered stamina questions.

A guy like Joshua will undoubtedly have stamina problems. Takes a lot of oxygen to feed those muscles.

Already watched it.

Stiverne landed very little and what he did land was typically not clean, as Wilder was leaning back and Stiverne could only grazd him. There was one good left hook I recall Stiverne landing, but I don't think taking one shot like that without being notably hurt proves a chin. Stamina is a concern with AJ's bulky frame, though I think this would have a very good chance of ending early.

I think it's a match-up that Joshua is favored in. If they both land on each other, which is probably exactly what will happen, then I don't think Wilder can take Joshua's power for as long as Joshua can take Wilder's power.

It would definitely be fun to watch. I would say Wilder is a slightly better boxer at this point, and has a speed advantage. His jab is getting better and better too thanks to Breland. When Joshua goes 12, and we see how his stamina is we will probably see it. I don't think his team will push for it until he gets a little more experience. To me it is a pick-em fight, and I would give the edge to Wilder at this point. Joshua seems to still be a little stiff and robotic at times, and his weight won't help in that department if he keeps getting bigger.

Joshua would probably win. I say this on the basis that Joshua is better than Eric Molina.

If Wilder came out swinging like he used to, I'd say it's roughly a 50-50 fight at this point, basically a case of whoever lands a big shot first.

But if Wilder attempted to box like he did against Stiverne & Molina, I'd say Joshua stops Wilder within 2 rounds. Wilder can't box for sh!t.

Agreed, attempting to 'box' Joshua would in my opinion mean Wilder getting backed up and annihilated.

jushua is a body builder. he has so much muscles, i doubt he can go 10+

wilder knocks him out late. jushua cant move like wilder and does not have the condition to handle late rounds, against such strong opponent like wilder, who can go 12.

This week, the WBC decided to elevate Anthony Joshua's ranking to second place, which means that he’s next in line for a shot to face Deontay Wider for his version of the world title, assuming the American disposes of his mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin. :o

Here’s what the Ringside team at SKY Sports think:

Johnny Nelson: Widler
Paul Smith: Wilder
Glenn McCrory: wilder
Jim Watt: Wilder
Jamie Moore: Joshua

Do you agree? :??
Were these guys questioned before or after the Wilder-Molina fight?

Before, but regardless, Anthony Joshua hasn't faced anyone nearing Eric Molina's ability, so we don't know for certain how well AJ would do against an opponent like that.

Before the Molina fight, I'd have a tough time deciding. After the Molina fight, I'd pick Joshua. Kingpin has Molina's ability IMO. If it took Wilder 9 rounds to find Molina with his right, he couldn't find Joshua. Joshua by mid-round knockout.
