I know the first recorded fight on film was Peter Courtney Vs. James Corbett and the latter won by KO in the 6th.
But does any film footage exist of the great John L.? I know he had a few exhibitions after he lost his last pro bout against Corbett in 21 rounds so I was wondering if anybody caught any of these exhibitions on film.
He fought James J. Jefferies in a 3 rounder and was supposed to fight Fitzsimmons but Police intervened. His last Exhibition he knocked out some guy in two rounds I think.
If any film footage exists I would like to know!

If you watch the greatest P4p video with Bert Sugar and Bill Cayton. There's footage of John L working a speed bag Circa 1910.

There is no film of Sulivan fighting. I have seen a clip of him goofing around with Jim Corbett at the Jeffries training camp in 1910 and John L was bigger than Dom De Louise with a gray mustache...the first heavyweight champ on film fighting is Corbett against Peter Courtney and the cameraman was Thomas Edison.

this site used to have two old clips but it's not working right now.
I'd check back. They had three clips and 2 of them worked. I've got it bookmarked in case the site comes up again.
