Cotto vs geale

Wasn't Geale 158lbs a month ago ...... now he's 167lbs

Some on here would believe absolutely anything you feed them. 158 a month before the fight. As if that was correct. Some probably still believe the Earth is flat because they read a Ray Weatley article on Fightnews stating that.

i think its pretty obvious that geale was doing a trial weigh in a month ago and when they weighed him last week he was at his fight weight or at least close to.

Interesting, so any excuse that he was weight drained should not wash then how mate?

Cotto will win but I really hope he gets a chance to beat Geale up and knock him out. I don't want to see Geale quit again when the going gets tough.

When did he quit?

Mate i gave him the benefit of the doubt against Golovkin but today that was a NO MAS.
To be back on your feet at 3 and not stumbling, not looking at the ref, he just waited for the words " Are you alright " so he could say no.
That is a Quit, which is his choice, he is the best judge on if he should continue and good luck to him. But let's not hear any more of he did
not quit rubbish.

Agree that it was a quit. I'm guessing he didn't see a chance to win at all and figured, quickly, he's probably gonna get KO'd/cop a beating.
I give him a lot of credit for fighting Cotto and really wanted to see him do well too. Oh well.
Bank on your name Geale and finish off your career fighting guys that are a tier below Cotto/GGG.

Ref should've waved it off when he reached 3 & not giving himself a counting lesson. It was quite clear there & then Geale was in no condition to continue

Not challenging your comments for one minute, you are entitled to them. Do you think the weight drain (extra 3 lb) played much of a part?

It played no part whatsoever. The fight was only a few rounds old, not a 12 rd war. Geale was just totally out of his depth and decided to quit and accept his paycheck. As others have said very disappointing stuff when fans are coughing up $$$$ for tickets/ppv etc etc.

Thats fine. Your opinion. I think it had great bearing on it before he even walked in. i didnt think it would but watching the weighin I now think differently.
