Is this a proper world title? What does interim mean?

It means the "actual" world champion can't currently fight (due to injury usually) so it's like a replacement champion.
Alot of times the interim champ fights the "actual" one once he comes back....

It's still technically considered winning a world title for Haskins.

So when th champ is back Haskins loses his title?

Still Can't work out whether this is a Scott Quigg world title or a proper one...

Not seen Haskins before , glad he got the ko when he did as he had loaded up so much in the previous rounds you could see him gassing badly . Seems like a good bloke tho , lot's of respect to his opponent , all the best to him

When he comes back Haskins will fight him for the title. If he doesn't come back in time then Haskins is champion. It's a Scott Quigg title that might turn into a proper title.

Really pleased to see Haskins win and it was a good fight. I was surprised that he had the power to stop him, I had predicted a Haskins points victory although the fact that it looked like Iwasa might soon start to turn the tide made me slightly nervous.

If Caballero doesn't recover from his injuries in time and Haskins' interim belt is upgraded I'd like to see him face Jamie McDonnell next, who has much improved since Haskins defeated him...

I really enjoyed the fight, the Jap started finding his rythm in the 4th and was looking pretty durable.

I sensed it turn into a grueling slugout just before Lee found that peach of a shot.

Really pleased for him and Sanigar. Been a long time coming.

I hope Lee gets at least one world title level paycheck out of the game.

Haskins vs McDonnell is a natural fight. Jamie has really improved and maybe wants to reverse that loss?

I'd like to see him fight Caballero first and win the full title, or get given it outright if Caballero doesn't return. Haskins-McDonnell would be a great fight and payday for both fighters, but I don't want to see a fight for the IBF interim and WBA regular titles.

Haskins has come on massively since he had a Break in 2009, that fight against Brourdhurst was the worst fight I've seen. He came back and Beat up the French kid for the WBA inter-C Title and looked really good doing so. Be a big fight for Haskins McD and very easy to make.......

Between bantam and feather, you have Butler, Haskins, Selby, Warrington, the McDonnells, Frampton, Quigg, Galahad, also Hall and Ward, lots of good fights out there

That was a good win for Haskins and opens the door for some interesting matches.

On a side note I was disappointed the ref didn't stop the fight when Haskins had his man down. It would have saved what looks like could have been a nasty injury (bleeding from within the ear never a good thing) but I suppose hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Am pleased with this, got the feeling the only chance he was going to get was being fed to Quigg. For the first time in years there is actually an insentive to fight Haskins. Fair play Mick as well

What a fantastic win for him, and you could see what it meant to all his fans and friends there; genuine joy, and great to see Dean Francis still around.

Presumably it was only a cut ear with the Japanese kid, it would've looked a bit suspicious if the referee have had waved it off when he jumped up in good time; after all, he was on top at the time and it was one shot out of the blue. Looked like it was going his way at the time, so well done Lee, what a peach of a punch.

I only caught a brief glimpse but I thought it was an external gash rather than leaking blood from inside the ear. I did only catch it very briefly though.

If you stick yer finger in the conchal bowl of an ear, that V-shaped bit you feel when you move your finger forward is the tragus, and the 'shelf' below is the antitragus. Because it's a piece of cartilage, a punch can shift it in such a way to cause nearby skin to tear. I think that's likely what happened.

Haskins needed that KO, I felt. I don't doubt that he trained exceptionally hard, but it's unusual to see a bantam blowing after three rounds. Iwasa looked set to win the latter half, possibly with a 10-8 round at some point. Haskins would've probably still taken it, but I think he'd have been in Bruno-McCall territory.

Although during Paul Dempsey's This is Your Life, he did say that he sensed an ability to hurt Iwasa in the first two, and that's why he fought without much care for conservation. Good luck to him - it paid off, but that's something that his future opponents can take heart from. Work him down the stretch. I fancied Iwasa to nick it until that punch. He took it well, though; respect to the man.

Haskins v Caballero ordered to take place within 90 days by the IBF. Good that Lee has the chance to win the full title in the ring.

How fit is Caballero? He had the operation in March so he should have recovered by now but it was a serious injury and to go from that straight into a hard training camp isn't ideal preparation.
