Froch's exciting fights were due to his weeknesses,and i can name Calzaghe v kessler,Lacy,Brewer,Mitchell,Reid as fairly decent fights.

I can certainly understand the arguments about their respective resumes, but is there really any debate that Calzaghe would have beaten Froch if they boxed in their primes?

I would probably put money on JC, but IMO Froch fought much better opposition overall.

Froch fought the number one in his division and lost,Calzaghe was the number one in his division and moved up and beat the number one in a second division.

Groves made Froch look like an amateur for 6/7 rounds in their first fight. Calzaghe would have done that for the full 12 if they had fought when Froch was chanting for it. Froch has went on had a stellar career and I doubt he would have achieved what he has if he fought Calzaghe when he wanted to! it's just one of they things for us to debate but we'll never know!

I think he was more concussed than anything else the first few rounds to be fair after that big right hand that dropped him, he then recovered to stop GG, then in the second fight Froch knocking GG unconscious in front of 80 thousand people at Wembley showing who actually was the amateur and who is the total professional boxing star!

Calzaghe would have whopped him on points though.

The shine CDs are wicked, I've got a load in my car like a proper middle aged man. Wide open space by mansun always gets a rewind!!

Primal scream were brilliant. One of the reasons I just can't get into kasabian is cos they seem a bit scream-lite. Higher than the sun, what a tune.

So my mates were out in Brighton and saw Bobby Gillespie walking down the road. He proceeded to tread in a massive pile of dog shit, but being rock and roll (and aware he was being watched) he just carried on swaggering round the corner pretending he hadn't noticed. When they caught up with him he was scraping it off the curb. And THAT is a great story.

(Btw, king of the curb was a tune)

88 / 89 was when it was all happening.

Music, fashion, attitude - it all came together at once. Usually you get a mix of one or two - but all three is rare.

The 90's was ok, but it was mainly bands spawning off the originals - it crossed over into the mainstream and then you'd have gangs of muppets in beanie hats getting wankered and slurring Sally Cinnamon along together in unison to the corpse of the Stone Roses. The same lads who'd take the piss out of us kids 'with silly long hair' when the band actually mattered.

Prior to Oasis, the only way you heard proper Indie music was going into a record shop, or in a club. Now and again the "Chart Show" on ITV would flick through the Indie chart and you'd get a glimspe of Cocteau Twins, Monday's or Carpets. It was very cool and underground (believe it or not).

Weatherall, Oakenfold should get a lot of credit too during that period.
