This is NOT an interesting matchup. :(
Why won't Garcia fight a real welterweight contender?![[icon_shame.gif] :shame:](./images/smilies/icon_shame.gif)
Why won't Garcia fight a real welterweight contender?

Yeah, someone like Algieri?Freedom2013 wrote:This is NOT an interesting matchup. :(

I think DG is testing the waters at 147, even though Paulie is not a big 147. Much bigger name than Algieri at least, with a lot more experience.
Re: Danny Garcia v Paulie???
total nonsense....
a feather fisted guy, who more commentator than boxer now against a guy who is suppossed to box the best
stupid match up

Re: Danny Garcia v Paulie???
I hate paulie, but i'd love for him to pull this fight out somehow
this is right up there with Amir and Manny fighting algieri
I would have let Manny slide if he would have taken on a algieri type after Marquez blasted him, but at this stage in his career and coming off Bradley 2 win, it was a waste of an opponent
Floyd hasn't fought a completely overmatched opponent like that since Baldomir

Algieri would dominate Paulie right now.Badhusker wrote:Yeah, someone like Algieri?Freedom2013 wrote:This is NOT an interesting matchup. :(
Why won't Garcia fight a real welterweight contender?Ok for Pacquiao and Khan.

Maybe he's hoping for a total domination and then to call out floyd for those big dollars. I know floyd is saying one more fight but honestly i can't see that happening, all this easy money out there for him still.
Anyways, if this fight happens i wouldnt be suprised for danny to look like shit against the magic man, and scraping through with a points decision.

Re: Danny Garcia v Paulie???
i'll tell you what, if Paulie can avoid DSG's left hand, he has a chance of making this into a Herrera type fight that may be interesting to score.
Something is wrong with DSG though and who knows if we will ever see the guy that knocked down Matthysee when everyone thought he was unstoppable. The guy that put Khan on geek street with that left hand bomb. Now he's winning fights by the skin of his teeth and taking a beating in each of these bouts. I don't get it. Maybe the people are correct and Angel Garcia needs to go and step back from his chief 2nd spot. He's just not right and if Paulie ends up beating him, times up. Time to move on.

Re: Danny Garcia v Paulie???
Garcia has been escaping against bad fighters lately, I guess thats exactly why the opponents keep getting weaker and more feather fisted. I love Paulie as a commentator, but he is well past his prime, not that he was ever elite in the first place.
With suck talent around him at 140-147 I know he faced Khan and Matthyse and could have an easy fight after stepping up but he has been unimpresive in a string of weak fights.
