Joseph Parker vs. Kyotaro Fujimoto
Very surprised to see Kyotaro take this fight.
Thoughts? Predictions?

Kyotaro has no chance, should've sat on his good ranking and waited for a bigger payday. Props to him for facing this very big challenge

They must be paying him well
Re: Joseph Parker vs. Kyotaro Fujimoto
Why would he get a bigger payday? Fighters should accept challengers, that's why they're called fighters. Exception is a fighter's first 10 or so fights.TheBeast wrote:Kyotaro has no chance, should've sat on his good ranking and waited for a bigger payday. Props to him for facing this very big challenge

Disappointing opponent, though Parker is one of those fighters who is generally fun to watch even against overmatched foes.
I'd like to see him step up soon against someone like Duhaupas, Rossy, or Rekowski.

Re: Joseph Parker vs. Kyotaro Fujimoto
I'm really looking forward to watching this bout because Kyotaro tries to be slippery,
especially when he's up against bigger, harder hitters. Will be interesting to see
how Kyotaro performs in his first bout outside Japan, and how Parker handles Kyotaro's
lateral movement, which has frustrated some of his opponents.
All things considered, it's still hard to imagine an ending much different from this one:

In a perfect i'd fully agree with you... But Fighters now fight for money, and The WBC ranks Kyotaro Fujimoto #15- that means he's actually "qualified" to challenge Wilder!!! he could adds easy stoppages from now on and wait for a payday that would be 10 times more at least of What Parker's team is offering Kyotaro... I'm glad he is taking on the challenge. But he has absolutely no shot at beating one of the best emerging heavyweight fighter. So no big payday for him.

Duhaupas is the only step up in these names... i'd like to see it

Given that his only loss, against 19-1-2 Haumono, was only his sixth fight and he is on a seven fight winning streak I am going to give Parker a pass here - statistically, Fujimoto is his best opponent since Minto.

I can't understand why Kyotaro didn't take this route.

he beat charr and was robbed vs teper
Re: Joseph Parker vs. Kyotaro Fujimoto
Parkers multi million dollar Hydr8 Zer0 deal probably enables him to pay just as much as Wilder... Maybe even more as he has fewer financial obligations.

Don't be confused by that winning streak, he could reasonably have lost both fights with Ishida....the same Ishida that Golovkin iced...Gnome wrote:Given that his only loss, against 19-1-2 Haumono, was only his sixth fight and he is on a seven fight winning streak I am going to give Parker a pass here - statistically, Fujimoto is his best opponent since Minto.

Lets hope Parker doesn't disrespect this son of Nippon the way we seem to.
Re: Joseph Parker vs. Kyotaro Fujimoto
I know that Duhaupas beat Charr and lost to Teper, but I was talking about Rossy and Rekowski not being steps up: has Parker beaten anyone as good as them? I'd say that his best opponent is Minto, but I think each part of the trio I listed are better than him.he beat charr and was robbed vs teper

I could see GGG as a heavyweight gatekeeper
Re: Joseph Parker vs. Kyotaro Fujimoto
Golovkin was once sparring Mike Perez (K2 stablemate) and Mike acknowledged GGG hits pretty hard. Nonetheless I can hardly see him keeping the gate off such sh***y prospects as Fujimoto or Haumono.Cutman Scabbers wrote:Boxing Prospect wrote:Don't be confused by that winning streak, he could reasonably have lost both fights with Ishida....the same Ishida that Golovkin iced...Gnome wrote:Given that his only loss, against 19-1-2 Haumono, was only his sixth fight and he is on a seven fight winning streak I am going to give Parker a pass here - statistically, Fujimoto is his best opponent since Minto.

Re: Joseph Parker vs. Kyotaro Fujimoto
Parker's best opponents have been Minto and perhaps Costa Junior, so I'm not opposed to him getting Fujimoto on his record as his new second best win, or something like that. IMO, there was more room to criticize his two previous opponents in Pettaway and Saglam. So yeah, I approve of this fight. I just hope that Parker notches a new career best win within the next 12-15 months or so. As a 23-year-old with a win over a top 50 opponent, it may be difficult for him to progressively outdo the Minto win without the competition getting too good, too fast for him; so I don't think you could ask him to fight a new best opponent every time out.

Fujimoto not fighting Parker. Dean Lonergan cussing Fujimoto, but I bet they never had his signature on the bottom line and jumped the gun. Looking like Bowie Tupou will be announced in the next couple of days. Better fight
