Excellent, really looking forward to this one, the atmosphere should be off the charts. I'm a big fan of both boxers so will be a bit gutted to see one of them lose, but I think it'll be a great fight to watch.

Nice match up. Saunders is as ready as he's going to be for a world title shot. But I think Lee will outbox him should be a decent fight.

Lee's talented but fragile, & I don't know if Saunders hits hard enough to do the job.
Really good fight & I dunno, seems to make a nice change to have people actually go through with a mooted clash between known properties.
I like both fighters & I'm looking forward to it, though aesthetically speaking it might get a bit ugly unless Saunders comes of age & manages to shine for all twelve without gassing out.

Lee should win this.
Re: Andy Lee v Billy Joe Saunders
People seem to be underestimating Saunders in my opinion.
Personally think as long as Saunders can stay disciplined stick to the game plan he should be able to outbox Lee in a close fight.

In billy joes last 7 fights, 5 have been undefeated. One of the other 2 was nick Blackwell. He's not done it the easy wayste1983 wrote:People seem to be underestimating Saunders in my opinion.

Billy can outbox Lee! The atmosphere will be crazy. Billy won't have many there for him to say the least.

You would think that BJS would be the better boxer and open up well taking the early rounds but after 6 rounds, you'd have to think that Lee is going to get right back into it and land a few big shots so it's going to depend on how well he can take them. I'd favour Lee.
Limerick is pretty tasty so it could be a pretty on top evening for this fight. Hope there's no beef between the Irish & Romany travellers!!

Limerick is crazy anyway, you're right. I'd have gone in this country, not over there. Fair play to Billy though. Big balls on him.

Nice fight, good luck to both men.

allegedly just tweeted "Re: #LeeSaunders speculation, nothing's been confirmed. Both London& Ireland are candidates. Will take place wherever makes the guys most money"
Re: Andy Lee v Billy Joe Saunders
Then "The things that are definitely confirmed are the month of September and that the fight will definitely take place."
Re: Andy Lee v Billy Joe Saunders
I think Booth knows the score with BJS. A pattern has formed over the past 18 months. He can be excellent over the first 6 rounds, but becomes less effective down the stretch.
I realise a lot of this has to do with his opposition. Ryder, Blackwell and Eubank have all pressured him down the stretch, Lee needs to do the same. I think the difference may be Lee's 1 punch power.
As long as Lee wins a couple of the first 6 rounds, he puts himself in a great position to get a close decision, especially in Limerick.

Ireland surely makes the most money, does BJS even draw over in London. Wasn't the last time he headlined in the Copperbox against Ryder?danamba7 wrote:allegedly just tweeted "Re: #LeeSaunders speculation, nothing's been confirmed. Both London& Ireland are candidates. Will take place wherever makes the guys most money"

But based on that when was the last time Lee headlined in Ireland?brian13 wrote:Ireland surely makes the most money, does BJS even draw over in London. Limerick is the Capital of sport in Ireland and everyone will get a super welcomemickey1975 wrote:Limerick is crazy anyway, you're right. I'd have gone in this country, not over there. Fair play to Billy though. Big balls on him.
Re: Andy Lee v Billy Joe Saunders
A few years ago but what needs to be realised is that it is a different game, when its a fight between an Irish and British fighter. The tickets sell very well and adds big the fight. Limerick also as pointed out is a serious sporting town and Thomond would be rocking for the fight and will sell out.ste1983 wrote:But based on that when was the last time Lee headlined in Ireland?brian13 wrote:Ireland surely makes the most money, does BJS even draw over in London. Re: Andy Lee v Billy Joe Saunders
I was simply pointing out that to say it sells better in Ireland because Saunders has only headlined the Copper Box and that was a while ago, could just as easily be turned around and say that Lee has never pulled a really big crowd in Ireland himself.brian13 wrote: A few years ago but what needs to be realised is that it is a different game, when its a fight between an Irish and British fighter. Maybe you're correct the Irish do tend to get a bit excited over the thought of anything against a Brit, despite Lee being born and spending most of his life in London
Re: Andy Lee v Billy Joe Saunders
Good fight.
Lee's been hanging on by a thread, barely winning rounds, being hurt repeatedly -but finding the big punch to bail him out.
It's been exciting seeing him battle through adversity vs korobov, Jackson and quillin (a draw, Lee's best result).
But he won't keep getting away with it much longer.
Is Saunders ready? He and eubank Jr looked very raw considering the stage they were on (big British grudge match); has he did developed enough?

Re: Andy Lee v Billy Joe Saunders
Love both fighters.
Can see Saunders easily outboxing Lee.
Can see Lee stopping Saunders.
And everything else in between.
