More importantly, I was able to see boxrec rating before and after each fight, and now it disappeared.
You can still get it, but it's very clunky looking.
Yep, my old checked setting got unchecked by the site update. I see ratings in results pages now but that looks ugly. One result probably takes as much space as two results before.

Huge loss for me:

Boxrec's USA boxing schedule (because of the high amount of USA fights) used to broken down into regions (Northeast, central south and west).

Now it is just USA.

Pretty lame. And hurts USA boxing promoters, match makers etc..

Also bummed about fighters to watch being taken away.

Oh well, like most websites and entrepreneurs you always learn by failing. With that said , I'll continue to use the still valuable assets that the site offers.

I'm sure I'll get more used to it, but why the change (sorry if I missed this)? The previous design was tidy and easy to navigate.

You say that because you were used to it. When you get used to this one you will find impossible to go back I imagine. Old format was clearly outdated and "ugly" in my opinion.

another really annoying thing is you cant have 2 rating pages open viewing separate countries, it just changes them so they both show the same country

The new design is definitely much cleaner and more modern looking.

I support change but this is not for the better, at least in my opinion. Now the records look like any other record keeping site on the net, what was beautiful about boxrec was that it was a simple, unique layout that made it the most professional database for research and fact finding. Now it looks just the same as everywhere else. The colours behind the W-L-D stats on records make them 10 times harder to read than they used to be, at least for me anyway. Hopefully I get used to it :-?

Please restore the old format, functionally friendly. The new is confusing and cumbersome.

I find that clicking on "Editors" tab at top restored the old format look for me.

I think the changes are for the worse. Comes off as very confusing. I thought the way it was formally was excellent. Much easier on eyes for viewing records. Please change it back or give an option to the reader.

I agree that you should split it (Northeast, central south and west). the rest is ok with me

I like it as well, it's more visually appealing and all the information is still there. Just takes some time to get used to.

I don't recall taking issue with the old design and I think it looked more professional--as suggested in another thread the new one resembles a blog site. Now this one isn't horrible and I'm not outraged by the change, but it's very possible to like one design more than the other regardless of how used to them you are.

I think the ads take up more space than any of the other information now.

That's probably the answer to any questions anyone might have about the new layout.

There are features of the new design I like (such as being able to open up a bout and see recent results) but on the whole...not a fan.

With all due respect to the editors, the new design is very hard to read. Columns of data should be legible at a glance, as they used to be at Boxrec.com.

Please provide an option to view W-L records in the old, usable format.

Boxrec schedule

Post by cold187 »

The new version
I always keep track of the heavyweights schedule but now when I try to 'only' view heavyweights its shows the whole damn card where I need to analyse to pick out the fight i want . In other words the filter doesn't work

Please return the schedule format as previously
