The best unsigned UK talent ??

Post by Looking On »

Who would you say is the best currently active boxers who are currently not signed to a promotional deal.

Locally its got to be Leigh Wood, who else is out there who you think should really be getting a bit of recognition by the promoters. ?

From west midlands id say
grant cunningham middleweight 10-1 his loss was due to a cut wen he was a round down in english eliminator. Fights for the english title in july.

Troy james 17-2. A loss in pf i disregard other he pushed terry Flannigan all the way. Fights for british title soon against liam walsh which is a tough fight.

Lennox Clarke 6 or 7 -0 big punching super middle/middleweight progressing nicely boxed on last matchroom show in brum.

Louis norman currently english champ at flyweight

Why do you think it necessary to be signed to anyone ?
Sometimes being a free agent can have benefits.

He looks a real good talent to be honest, I'm disappointed he hasn't had the chance to step up already.
Also I wander why the Fury's haven't taken him on.

Spelman is quality, v.sharp counter-puncher, fast for a light heavy+ can crack a bit.
Sparred one round with him a couple of months back+quickly realised why I prefer being on the other side of the ropes these days

Was rumoured to have been offered british shot at couple weeks notice and turned it down also had a eliminator with travis dickinson put together by the board but both fighters withdrew from the bid

I think that there were also other outside-of the-ring issues rumours (wasn't it his dad who made a facebook posting about him or was that somebody else ?)

Not sure if all has been sorted however there are enough boxers at that level to go around, unless they are a nailed on talent then a promoter just doesn't need the hassle of taking them on and risking their investment if they go off the rails.
