This kid has it all.

Imo the best American prospect today.

I think you're getting a bit carried away. Very good prospect but future P4P king? I wouldn't want to be putting my money on it.

I remember similar things said about Broner. Long way to go.

Without even leaving the US I can suggest another fighter that's already a better prospect for that title that Spence.

Terrence Crawford is likely to be above him in the p4p rankings for years to come.

I'm not even convinced Spence will be the the best WW without a number of high profile departures from the division.

At the same time, do you consider Crawford a prospect anymore? To me, he's a top 10 P4P fighter.

As for Spence, I think he has all the attributes to be a great fighter.

Exciting prospects like Crawford and Spence make things exciting, and we may very well see the two square off in the not to distant future. I think both are the real deal. Putting Spence in with Thurman this fall will tell us a lot if they do that. Not sure I would rush him that much. Maybe he is more ready than I think though. If it was me I would put him in with someone like Guerrero or Berto. Not that Thurman is all that, but it seems like he should at least beat a gatekeeper type guy first. I think we will see him on Floyd's undercard in September against a live opponent. Maybe Porter?

Everyone is getting tied up with wording. I never meant crawford was a rookie.
I meant prospect as in potential future candidate for no1 p4p.
If Errol Spence Jr ever wants to lay claim to that title he's going to have to prove himself better than Crawford at some point (as well as many other exciting prospects around just now)
Crawford may be a legit world champion and top 10 p4p but he's young and not going anywhere anytime soon.
As long as he's active and prime I don't see Spence ahead of him on a p4p list.

As i said, that's giving an example without even leaving the states. That's before we even mention guys like Roman Gonzalez who could go on to make a better claim for that crown.

I think Spence is an exciting talent but not that good. I wouldn't have him anywhere near Thurman until he proves he belongs among that level and I'd wager he'll never make top 3 p4p.

Lo Greco said after that fight he's never seen anything like Spence in all his years sparring and as an amateur. Said the punches were not only blinding fast but thudding.

Floyd wants Spence to fight Porter or Thurman for a title next and is ready to vacate one of his titles in their favor if it happens. He also said that with Spence's size, he will likely be a LMW or even MW pretty soon and could eventually face Golovkin. Unfortunately, Golovkin doesn't have too much time to wait for Spence.

I have never seen the guy fight. That's a bold prediction for anyone who has 17 pro fight's as P4P king.

I agree with the OP and while I like crawford alot, I think spence has more potential. I was thinking to myself this morning that it is too bad that collazo is fighting thurman, but I think he would be a great next fight for spence. The ghost would be another good option.

Just watched Spence on the DVR. Undercard of Broner vs. Porter. Sets down on punches very well. Appears to be a 10-15 welterweight right now.

At best looks to have a bright future. I'd say he's the new kid on the block following right behind the Porter's or the Thurman's.

At least no one called him the Michael Jordan of boxing after 3 or 4 fights like someone here did (Lomanchenko) a while back. Some funny sheet.

I think this is going way overboard. Dude beats Phil Lo Greco, who is not even a top 150 welterweight, and suddenly Spence is future P4P #1. Spence has risen to the rank of divisional #15 by age 25. Fighters like Adrian Broner, Amir Khan, and Victor Ortiz have significantly exceeded Spence's achievements by similar ages. So... yeah, I think this thread is going far overboard.

This is a joke. Vasquez would flatten spence. He didn't impress me no how on NBC against that late substitute scrub.
