The Joe Gallagher 'Big Weight' Gameplan doesn't pay off, Smigga drops $60K and spends nine rounds as a (semi) mobile punchbag.

That was better than Brook v Gavin.
Sky will be kicking themselves for not making that PPV.

This is why i dont like him, thinks he is the god of boxing, talks like he is a world beater when he has been beat 3times on domestic level and 3 times after tonight on the world scene. He is an arragant tit and tbh is a glorified journeyman,if he didnt get a yellow brick road of opponents in his first 20 odd fights he would have more than 6 losses on his record. Dont like the guy and never will tbh

Well that was pretty embarrassing...Didn't get close to making the weight, then didn't get close to making a fight of it.

To be fair, you couldn't realistically expect anything else. He was way out of his depth.

I've seen gallagher called it a war, sounds about as one sided as the 6 day war

I've watched it again, in slow motion, with the sound down, and now feel Smith was robbed.

If missing the weight was a genuine mistake, how come he was well over for the second one too?

He'd probably given up by then and thought what's the point in trying to stick to any agreements.

He was within the limit for the second weigh in the first time round, it would have saved him a lot of money!
But then the Ward team were pleased with the final outcome and it seems they have given him a few quid back.

Sounds like Ward has let them off with the penalty clauses in the end.

Respect to them for that, they could have really shafted him for how it turned out.

Aaaaaaaaaah my eyes, my beautiful eyes.

Anyway, did everyone else think it was odd Ward wasn't going to the body much? You would have thought with Smith carrying a very high guard and not looking in great shape it would have been the obvious thing to do.

Terrible stoppage. Smith was all set to belly smash him in the 12th. It's not a tickling contest.

I like Smith, he's passionate and opinionated which results in a lot of things coming back to bite him in the arse. He doesn't help himself and I do agree on here and twitter he does struggle to respect fans opinions and can get on his high horse. I can defo see why plenty don't like him. However i'm sure he gets so much stick from trolls he unfortunately reacts in the wrong way to the actual fans sometimes. I think part of his problem is that any negativity and he see's it as an attack on him. He's very knowledgeable and talks a good game. He also is 1 of the boxers I see at shows who has the most time for fans. As for his career he's a British level fighter for me, which is a very good level but he has done very well getting 3 shots at a world title. I'd really like to see him in against Fielding before he retires as I see this as a 50/50 and would give Paul the shot at winning the British outright.

Fight panned out pretty much how I thought, except I thought Smith wouldve tried a bit more ,he let his hands goa little more in the last 2 rounds but the damage was done and it was an easy nights work for Ward

Fair play to Paul though he did land a flush right hand in the 7th I think it was, better fighters than him didn't manage that, but that was about as good as it got

Smith looked like a geezer from the boozer who took his shirt off for a scrap in the car park. Fat pig. Hearn should be embarrassed by the shite he puts on Sky.

Looking down smiths record, he was coming along nicely up until bendall beat him. What I found looking at its he would fluctuate anywhere between 154 to 172 in his first 6 years as a pro.

Him being a super middle as he has out grown the weight is bull shit, he's just lazy. He can't even blame genetics as we can see his brothers.

What's interesting is no one sees smith as world class. How do you think he would do against Frank buglioni?

Smith Buglioni would be an interesting one.

I would just favour Smith, but not by much, and that's mainly down to the fact Smith has fought better opposition (even if he has lost each time.)
