Has Bowe really regressed so far as to be beatable by a novice such as Steeds? I have seen Bowe's last couple of outings and whilst he has been flabby and poorly co-ordinated I still think he will be too much for Mickey.stujones wrote:Easy Easy Easy.....
I doubt it will happen personally, Steeds is too good. I think he beats Bowe.
Am I right in thinking Mickey had no amateur experince and came from the unlicensed circuit?
Still, it s a fantastic move by Mickey's management team IF it comes off.

Fantastic for Steeds if this goes ahead. I think I'd side with stujones - Bowe is so horrible and fat an uninterested that anything could happen.
Kev is right that it's no lose for Steeds - but has Bowe (appeared to) pick Steeds? A) He's from the UK. B) Has only had a handful of fights, so if you beat him you get slated for taking on a newbie, and if you lose to him that's even worse C) He's only got one blemish on his record, fairly hard to assess I would have thought.
In short, why has Bowe gone for Steeds rather than another American blown up cruiserweight-journeyman type?

First off Steeds has to get past Colin Kenna, not an easy fight for him.
Also in the other 2 fights Bowe has had recently he has gone through a number of names supposed to be fighting him , before an opponent is set .
I'd be surprised if Steeds did fight Bowe, but any publicity is good publicity as they say, so Steeds will get his name in a few papers because of this and it gives a bit of a build up for the Kenna fight.

I spoke to Mickey's manager last night and they are aware that the Kenna fight is much more important and that fight will definitely go ahead.
The Bowe fight is all arranged as there is a link with Rooney's Pug Athletic and the Gleason Gym in New York, they are just waiting for Bowe to get Medical Clearance

Fair play to Mick if the fight happens, lets hope he can pull of the victory. One thing i have to say about Bowe is that he still has the world class jab , i have the Bowe-Zumbrun fight on dvd (as well as the rest of Bowe's career on DVD), he didnt look to bad, sure he took a few shots, but he did win 7 rounds in my book.
I've heard from a friend in the states, that Bowe has been really working on his conditioning and is looking almost body-beautiful.

Its such a sad situation that we are even discussing the fact that Steeds may stand a chance , shows how much Bowe has regressed.SuperSedgy wrote:Why is it happening in Aruba?!? I think that at the moment Steeds will win this. Bowe looked so bad against Zumbran anybody could beat him.
Saying that though, i still feel he'll have to much for Steeds
