Boxrec Main Site changed?
Re: Boxrec Main Site changed?
Don't any of you use smartphones?!? Sure from a computer or laptop the old version was good. But from a phone it was horrible and SLOW.
Re: Boxrec Main Site changed?
So, there should be separate regular and mobile versions if they can't make one which is good in both environments.diddy wrote:Don't any of you use smartphones?!? Sure from a computer or laptop the old version was good. But from a phone it was horrible and SLOW.
Re: Boxrec Main Site changed?
why not have something separate for phones an app or something like that, cause this new site is shit on a computer which is what i use boxrec on majority of the time, like a few people have said this might be a good way to stop me constantly being on this site like i usually am, its that poor.

Re: Boxrec Main Site changed?
As others have noted, boxrec probably needs a phone app. Involving actual site users in changes would certainly help web site developers, but that doesn't seem to happen much anymore. Did boxrec enlist any posters or heavy users in the development of this new version?diddy wrote:Don't any of you use smartphones?!? Sure from a computer or laptop the old version was good. App development is expensive. That's asking after they've developed the app. I'm talking about involving people during the development. That's what I did for a living for about 25 years, and used to be how applications were developed.Ric wrote:Only since March 12. Yes, it can be, but enlisting actual users during development can be managed and actually save money. If you get it wrong it can cause a business to fail, or cost a lot more to re-engineer to fix what was done improperly.diddy wrote:App development is expensive. The dates are clearly MESSED UP, they are not like before where u could see who was fighting MOST RECENTLY, it is a huge F#CKING mess, change the site again or let us have an option to go back..Marina wrote:The watching feature is back, see http://boxrec.com/watching.nycutman wrote:BRING BACK THE WATCHING LIST !!!

The format of the site is messy now. It was neat and businesslike before. I'm a function before style guy, so this is disorienting and disappointing.
I especially enjoyed the list of upcoming events in my region. It was always the first thing I looked for on the Boxrec home page. Very sad to see it go.

Re: Boxrec Main Site changed?
are the majority of people who dont like the new site just going to be ignored now then ?
and still i cant look at the commonwealth ratings like you used to be able to ???? also cant have more than one page open with different country's ratings only lets you have one at a time ???

What purpose did C'wealth ratings serve? Best you take another test drive for the last part of your comment.Rogers21 wrote:are the majority of people who dont like the new site just going to be ignored now then ?

We are not ignoring you. But we can't fix a problem that is not there, you can have windows open with the ratings of different countries.Rogers21 wrote:are the majority of people who dont like the new site just going to be ignored now then ?

We're working on the regions, thanks.
Re: Boxrec Main Site changed?
ok fair enough you now can but the last few days ive been looking through in continuously changed the pages i were looking on to the first country i was looking at, so fair enough that has been fixed and what purpose do the commonwealth rankings serve? they serve the purpose that i wanted to look at them and i used to be able to and now i cant, thats like saying what purpose do the European Rankings or Latin American rankings serve.
also the reason im saying your ignoring us is majority preferred the old site just the layout was much easier to view, this one may be more mobile friendly but im on her every day on a computer/ laptop and it looks poor, big clunky colors which everyone seems to be struggling with not just myself.

Re: Boxrec Main Site changed?
I have been visiting Boxrec for the last 10 years. I also prefer the old Boxrec layout and I don't like the color scheme. I am hoping it is something I get used to. I really miss seeing the number of knockouts in brackets by the boxers records in the schedule and results. Now you have to click on the boxer to get the KO details.

I've noticed this new anti-violence trend in boxing. The new promoters do NOT like knockouts. The lower your KO %, the better chance you have getting on the card.
Boxrec has apparently jumped on the bandwagon regarding being Anti-knockout.
Re: Boxrec Main Site changed?
The new layout is all about presentation at the expense of content/information.yu265545 wrote:I have been visiting Boxrec for the last 10 years. I did what you suggested, and I can select my country (USA) and see all upcoming events in my country, but they used to be listed in proximity to my location. I don't see that feature anymore. Am I really dense, or is it not there?

Re: Boxrec Main Site changed?
Okay, Anton. It isn't hard to figure out how to manipulate the criteria to show scheduled shows in 2015 in the state of Minnesota, but it's still inferior to the previous iteration, which automatically showed me all upcoming shows ranked by proximity to my location. I didn't have to fart around before.
I'm sad that Boxrec has lost its elegant simplicity in favor of cluttered clumsiness.
