Better opponent than Fujimoto. Tupou should get beaten handily but he's at least got some pop.

Surely Tupou has a better chance than Fujimoto would have... ?

Definitely. He's got some pop and while he's limited I think he can hurt Parker.

I don't see any realistic way that Fujimoto could've troubled Parker....undersized, not much power, and outgunned in pretty much every way.

I agree. The only way I could see Fujimoto troubling Parker is by running away, which he does fairly well.

Apparently only TOO well this time!

...in 1986
Kyotaro Fujimoto was born in Japan. His career
began in December 2011 and he fights as an

What are the odds Fujimoto got a better offer for September on PBC? He's top 15 WBC...

IMO, Tupou and Fujimoto are very closely equal opponents.

I just don't see what Fujimoto has to trouble Parker.....Tupou will probably lose handily but he can at least punch--he clearly knocked down Jennings despite the ref egregiously not ruling it as such--and Parker's been rocked before (by Nascimento). That extra bit of danger makes Tupou the better opponent imo.

Yep if Tupou catches Parker with an overhand right like he landed on Jennings, Parker is going down!

Bowie Tupou is a much better opponent that Deontay Wilder was fighting at the same stage in his career.

Wilder should have fought tough journeymen like Tupou, but instead he fought over-40 former middleweights like poor old Marlon Hayes.

Parker so far looks a special talent. Fast, heavy hands. Could go a long way.

The time isn't right for that fight for so many reasons. But it would make for one hell of a scrap.

Me too. But not now, in 2018.

Let them both develop and build their resumes and popularity first.

That's it. Hopefully get a title each and fight for big money on a big stage.

Of course it is very rare to see a matchup between such up-and-coming prospects these days.

Would be interesting to see them fight next year for the Commonwealth Title -- though I don't
expect it to happen.

When is the most recent time such top prospects fought each other? I can't think of any such case...

Only really happens if it can be billed as a big domestic fight. Degale and Groves fought early and they could soon both have a world title.

I really like Parker's offensive abilities. He has the most 'snap' on his shots of any of the HW prospects, and he throws combinations.

The one big ? is his chin as his defense has been pretty porous. Tank Williams did hurt him some, but then again that he was fighting Williams so early is impressive.

That's a great example!

Groves won that, but it's DeGale who has gone on to become world champ.
