Re: Danny Green vs Tamas Kovacs
Decent opponent for a comeback fight I guess.
I get the feeling we will see Green v Mundine II early next year. I'm sure it will still sell here but it should have happened 8 years ago

Big difference in weight, won't be happening too soon, mundine at JMW, what's green coming back at, LHW or cruiser

Re: Danny Green vs Tamas Kovacs
I imagine green will bef fighting around the 84 kg catch weight he fought at towards the end of his last run.
I'm sure there will be enough money involved to get them to come to an agreement, both guys are in their fourties now and will want the one last big payday

Re: Danny Green vs Tamas Kovacs
What's happening with choc and trout, has it got a date yet?
Re: Danny Green vs Tamas Kovacs
So the main goal for Green appears to be a Mundine rematch correct?
Dude needs to let it go, it's been almost a decade and Mundine is fighting all the way down at junior middle now.
Mundine/Trout?
Don't know what's up with that.
It's not like there is an unlimited number of tv dates. Back out of one and you could end up waiting a while for the next available date.

Re: Danny Green vs Tamas Kovacs
I really respect Green has a fighter...... but to keep challenging someone that you out weigh by more than 18kg or even more is a JOKE
Jeff Fenech......... HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD WHEN HE SAID THAT IF THIS REMATCH TAKES PLACE IT WILL BE GOING AGAINST WHAT BOXING IS ALL ABOUT.................FOR GODS SAKE THAT'S WHY WE HAVE DIFFERENT WEIGHT CLASSE'S SO SOME-ONE LIKE GREEN DOESN'T HAVE SUCH A
UNFAIR ADVANTAGE AT THE WEIGHT'S COME FIGHT TIME
ASK YOURSELF THIS WOULD GREEN BE SO KEEN FOR A REMATCH IF THE SHOE WAS ON THE OTHER FOOT
SIZE WISE AND AGE WISE HE SHOULD FIGHT KALI MEEHAN
NOT A JR MIDDLE

Agree with what you say but Jeff fought Azumah Nelson for a 3rd time he's in no position to criticize.ClivePatrickLyons wrote:I really respect Green has a fighter...... but to keep challenging someone that you out weigh by more than 18kg or even more is a JOKE

to be fair you gotta remember choc has called green out a few times in the last nine years too. Its the reason green first came out of retirement after a substantial offer from choc. They have had agreements to fight several times but it apears that choc keeps pulling out.

Remember the pictures of Green and Khoder talking in the park just prior to Green's last comeback? Both sides had clear intentions then and I dare say there has been dialogue this time around too.scottearley123456 wrote:ClivePatrickLyons wrote:I really respect Green has a fighter...... but to keep challenging someone that you out weigh by more than 18kg or even more is a JOKE

Re: Danny Green vs Tamas Kovacs
It's a win win fight for Danny, thats why he wants it so bad. If history repeats and Mundine uses him as a human heavy bag then Green willscottearley123456 wrote:ClivePatrickLyons wrote:I really respect Green has a fighter...... but to keep challenging someone that you out weigh by more than 18kg or even more is a JOKE

claim " He drained me again". If Mundine's speed and reflexes are shot then Green will eventually catch him.
The rematch should have happened 8 years ago but it was so one sided i doubt they could have sold it again so soon.
The fight will sell now if it gets made. The Green fans who were running round telling everyone that Green would KO him in less than 3 in the original fight are still looking for redemption, one look at Green's Facebook page will tell you it's all they dream about.
If Green is serious about making a comeback as a contender then Wlod and Tarver are still out there but i doubt he will be calling out any genuine top tens.
It wouldn't surprise me if the fight doesn't get made. I can see Mundine playing games with Green for a while yet.

Re: Danny Green vs Tamas Kovacs
green is more vocal about it publicly but mundine is just as keen as danny. He is just being cagey about it and keeps pulling out like he does on lots of his big fightsbogan whisperer wrote:Remember the pictures of Green and Khoder talking in the park just prior to Green's last comeback? Re: Danny Green vs Tamas Kovacs
Should the Trout fight not get remade, or should Mundine lose it, the negotiations for Green vs Mundine II will likely begin even though the disparity in weights will mean the fight won't actually occur any time soon.scottearley123456 wrote:green is more vocal about it publicly but mundine is just as keen as danny.
