IF GGG moved down to meet floyd ...
IF GGG moved down to meet floyd ...
... i think that would be a real easy night for floyd.
if manny with all his speed couldn't find him, how
should a drained middle weight?
straight forward, standard arsenal fighter with a
big punch should be very easy to read. i still do not
think such fights and especially this one should be
made, but still ...
who do you have?

Re: IF GGG moved down to meet floyd ...
Depends what it takes out of GGG. If it doesn't affect him, I can't see how Floyd can compete with someone that much bigger and with as good skills as GGG. If he's a walking corpse, Floyd could box his way to comfortable UD and further enhance his already brilliant legacy.
Re: IF GGG moved down to meet floyd ...
It would be a great fight, floyd is slick, GGG cuts the ring off so well, floyd was hurt by maidana and if GGG tagged him, I don't think he would get a second chance, floyd would need to be extra cautious with GGG but this fight could easily go either way, if floyd was stuck in the corner I think it would be a great deal harder to get out aswell
Re: IF GGG moved down to meet floyd ...
People should stop with this speculation already. A snowball's chance in Hades it actually happens
A guy who weighs 150-155 on fight night is not going up to middleweight to square off with a hard hitting fighter who will outweigh him by 20 pounds when they touch gloves.
And if the bigger guy drains himself down to 154, he will have absolutely nothing to trouble the smaller man with- just ask Chad Dawson what that is like.
Like I have been saying for the longest, if the fight is going to ever take place it will be at 154. And for it to sell, GGG has to show he can make that weight and be effective at it first.
I just don't see that happening.

Definately sell better than the other 2 options he put forward, that is for sure

yes you are right. GGG would sell better than Berto, Mayfield or KhanPureist wrote:Definately sell better than the other 2 options he put forward, that is for sure

No, a Khan fight does better than a GGG fight.tiny_acres wrote:yes you are right. GGG would sell better than Berto, Mayfield or KhanPureist wrote:Definately sell better than the other 2 options he put forward, that is for sure
So does a Cotto or Canelo fight.

It would sell, but who wants to see another guy weight drained at a catch weight? Like Floyd Sr. said, they would also put a re-hydration clause in to even the playing field. Would Floyd get credit for the win if he did win? Doubtful. He is in one of those damned if he does and damned if he doesn't situations. That is why it really doesn't matter who he fights.
I think Floyd will fight whoever he wants, and bank on putting a real exciting undercard to boost ppv numbers. Broner vs a top guy, (
Re: IF GGG moved down to meet floyd ...
Already fought cotto, already fought canelo, no one likes khan, cotto avoiding GGG, canelo won't fight GGG for 2 years, Berto or mayfield are sparring partners for floyd, not legit opponents, a very quick way to cheapen your legacy, the fans always remember your last couple of fights better than the early oneskoolkc107 wrote:No, a Khan fight does better than a GGG fight.tiny_acres wrote:yes you are right. think so too, GGG is still a boxing insider name.koolkc107 wrote:No, a Khan fight does better than a GGG fight.

Re: IF GGG moved down to meet floyd ...
If marketed properly it would be huge, GGG 20 strait KOs, unbeaten, P4P #3 vs floyd,P4P #1 48-0, WHOS 0 WILL GO, they manage to sell very crappy fights time and time again, anyone who says they don't want to see this fight has an agenda as far as I can see
Re: IF GGG moved down to meet floyd ...
Of course. Khan is such a super starkoolkc107 wrote:No, a Khan fight does better than a GGG fight.tiny_acres wrote:yes you are right. GGG would sell better than Berto, Mayfield or KhanPureist wrote:Definately sell better than the other 2 options he put forward, that is for sure

Ikorolov the last person I want to see Floyd fight is Khan.
I think Khan is the most over rated fighter today.I think he does not deserve a ppv with anyone.

GGG takes this fight easy
That being said he's known damn well for awhile the only possibility of a Floyd fight would be at 154.
He should have been trying to make that weight or something close to it while he's fighting these mandatories who offer little challenge

I agree that GGG should of tried the 154 pound route for quite a while.FloydtheDuck wrote:GGG takes this fight easy

Waiting until Floyd's supposed final fight is kind of lame.I don't know if GGG wants the
fight anymore than Floyd does.Which is zero percent.
Re: IF GGG moved down to meet floyd ...
Aside from GGG size, I eally see little that will trouble Floyd.. at 154 GGG getts cleanly outboxed.
Re: IF GGG moved down to meet floyd ...
Your kidding surely, I don't think floyd will fight him in a pink fit, as for GGG, would their be an easier way to raise your name higher than fight and beat floyd
Re: IF GGG moved down to meet floyd ...
GGG isn't moving down to 147 for two reasons.
If you're a legitimate Welterweight which most of them aren't then you'll weigh in at 147 on the night.
Almost all of them can't or won't.
GGG is a 160 Middleweight fighter and won't fake it so it wont happen.
Floyd won't move to 160 because GGG has a very good chance at beating him if all is fair, 13 pounds is a hike and Floyd won't make it relatively comfortably.
You want it clean then that's what you do.

Re: IF GGG moved down to meet floyd ...
floyd had a draw with maidana I
floyd had a second fight with maidana where he did nothing but excessive holding and should have had a DQ loss
floyd had a complicated fight with manny and won a close fight
so floyd has been boxing small guys like manny or technicly limited guys like maidana and was close to losing, even having a draw
and now you guys realy think he can beat a guy, who is know to KO middleweights sometimes even with 1 hand, with a 91 % KO %,
a man in his prime, who can cut the ring and has on top of his punching power, good all around skills.
floyd gets battered or holds all day and his bought ref does not do anything about it, cause today it seems excessive holding is okay, although
the rules say otherwise.

Title of the thread is will GGG move down .... Last time I checked Floyd is supposed to be 147 that's why I reacted in the way I did.
Re: IF GGG moved down to meet floyd ...
Floyd fights at 147 and 154
Re: IF GGG moved down to meet floyd ...
Floyd walks into the ring at 150 .
