Chris Eubank Sr confirms Benn III talks and wants Mayweather-Khan and GGG-Jr!
Chris, the Internet is on fire with rumours of Benn-Eubank III. Can you confirm its possibility?
Yes, I can confirm it's possibility!
So will it happen?
I can't say right now. I can't say much. But we are talking.
What is your motivation?
My motivation is to break Floyd Mayweather's record of earning $180,000,000 in one night.
Do you really believe that's possible?
It's definite. 200,000 tickets at an average of £250 a head is $60,000,000 for me and $40,000,000 for Nigel, and 5,000,000 pay-per-view buys at £20 per transaction is $120,000,000 for me and $80,000,000 for Nigel. Then there's sponsors.
Wow! You never know!
It's not only the younger generation you see, so it's not only those in their 20s but those in their 30s and 40s. We'll double 80,000 fans based on that alone, and the rest with hyperbole. But we'll see. What Nigel has to understand is that I am the bigger name, I am the controller of us because I own the victory and so I earned that right.
What did you make of last years Froch-Groves II fight?
I knew Froch would win but kept it to myself. I saw what he was made of in the sparring with my son, standing up to my son like he did and firing back, and coming on stronger with each passing minute. He was the veteran, the battle-hardened warrior with the stable long-term trainer. It was him. But I like George.
What do you make of Froch the person? A lot of people believe he is too outspoken and disrespectful to past fighters like Benn and Calzaghe....
Carl is a sweetheart. Few people have ever been as kind and warm towards me as he was in my company. I like him as a person and an athlete, but nobodies perfect, are they? If we were all perfect, the world would be a rather tedious place.
Did Andre Ward impress you with his performance the other night?
Andre Ward always impresses me for his completeness. He can fight in range, out of range, on the edge of range and up close all equally well. Paul Smith produced a very difficult defensive guard. The thing with Paul is he has a fantastic jab but he doesn't throw it!
Have you seen Benn's recent padwork footage with Ricky Hatton?
Yes but one thing to bare in mind is that pads don't punch you back, do they? He'll never beat me because I don't go anywhere and I punch back. The reason Nigel wants the fight is because he wants the respect I get today, he's living in regret for lack of dignity and integrity in the late 80s and 90s as he self-proclaims. I'm steady and comfortable because I held dignity and integrity in high esteem and lived and fought by a different, more correct, code.
Who would you like to see Floyd Mayweather fight next?
Amir Khan is the biggest name with the biggest ability. He's beaten all the big names barring Mayweather himself - Barrera, Judah, Maidana, Collazo, Malignaggi. He's done better than Ricky Hatton, better than Pacquaio, and better than Mayweather himself, against the same men! So it must be Amir Khan and Dubai would be an innovative location, one I did the groundwork for many years ago.
When will Chris Eubank Jr face 'GGG'?
As soon as possible. I'm 95% cocksure that Junior will outbox him, cut him up and take him out brutally.

You left out the bit where he said the fight will take place in a state of the art facility on mars in order to cinfirm it's status as a fight that is literally out of this world

This rumour seems to be growing legs. As someone said above, it would take the MBC, Luxembourg or somewhere obscure to licence it as the BBBoC wouldn't entertain them I wouldn't imagine. I don't know what to make of it. It would be a spectacle but both are legends in their own right and have nothing to prove.

It will surely be an exhibition if it goes ahead.Stuarty30 wrote:This rumour seems to be growing legs. I know Benn looks good on the pads etc, but he's been out the ring for Donkeys as has Eubank.
They could probably put on an exhibition bout and make a lot of money, plus they can both hype up their sons at the same time.

This has to be a wind up. How exactly would they sell 200,000 tickets? Where would they be fighting, main stage of Glastonbury?

Surely they could extend the capacity for such a historic event?clopixolacuphase wrote:Glastonbury's capacity is just under 180,000Boxerbeetle wrote:This has to be a wind up. How exactly would they sell 200,000 tickets? Where would they be fighting, main stage of Glastonbury?

Can't see this happening. If it did the press conferences would be far more entertaining than the fight itself.

Even he doesn't believe this claptrap - I'm sure he's aware his son is far from world class.
