Delroy spencer

Post by Floyd the snake »

Looks like Delroy making a comeback on a MBC show in august , for me the MBC aren't doing themselves any favours ,Delroy will be 47 and after 160 pro bouts at the lighter end of weight scale Delroy should stay retired .

Apparently they are paying big Money on these shows so I am told

These shows in Leeds are attended by 250 - 300 people at best, they're not televised so where exactly is this 'big money' coming from?

You tell me

After 155 losses only been stop 16 times that ain't bad. But to loss a 155 times is a joke, I know for these journey men it's about the money but surely after 172 he has a few quid. I know that on some of the big shows (FW) he'd get the same money as the prospect..

Just to clarify, ive seen on here and been said to me a few times about MBC paying more.... Im not sure where thats coming from as the pay is the same as on BBBoC. Basically for those doing 4 rounders (which many of those journeymen turning over to MBC will be doing) its a grand...

As the poster above said... where would the money be coming from ?

Does this mean Lee Murtagh will be Reffing as well as Promoting?
Is this in the best interest of boxing???

Lee doesnt ref on shows he promotes...
I have previously questioned though if a promoter should also be a ref regardless of the show.
I know i personally wont be comfortable with him reffing any of my lads who are going MBC and ill make them aware of that.
The MBC have recently acquired who i believe is the best ref on the unlicensed scene by far in Tyrone Herod from Burton on trent, hopefully he gets assigned to a lot of shows.

Lee doesnt ref on shows he promotes.
Not true. Lee refereed bouts on his own promotions in both November and February.

What a ridiculous state of affairs no wonder they have no credibility with people refereeing their own shows & a who's who of BBoC boxers that have had their licences pulled for not being up to scratch.

agree mate after 170 pro fights u must have saved a nice amount of $$ - I'm all for guys boxing but surely after 30 years boxing a very long amature and pro career at 47 yrs of age and after having your license stripped it's time to call it a day!
