Can anyone tell me why he has not boxed since winning the EBU Super Middle Title in 2003?

I remember watching him get robbed byOttke.

Contract trouble with his manager. They are meeting in court sometime this month.

They settled out of court today, Larsen is no longer a Team Palle fighter and he is free to fight everywhere.

Wow, I thought he'd retired. I wonder how much the ring rust will effect him, because I thought he was around the same level as Calzaghe and co. when he was active.

Good to see Larsen back in the reckoning, let's hope he gets signed up and fights soon, it is a shame to see him wasting away.

He says in an interview that he might not return, the case was "just" a matter of principals.

Interviewed today, Larsen said he was not at all sure he would return to boxing. Inactivity and legal dispute has taken it's toll.

If he decides to give it another shot. - Where can he go? Saurland? - He has a bit of a name in Germany from fighting both Ottke and Häussler.

He was a decent fighter, he was plain robbed against Ottke. I know there were a lot of iffy decisions in Germany but Larsen clearly won it was one of the worst.

Shows what a shite sport this can be when nothing more than contractual disputes and the like can take a decent fighter in his prime out of the sport for so long.

Kind of difficult to keep faith in boxing.....

terrible, Larsen was definitley one of the best in the world and was jobbed against Ottke...
Too many boxers lose there best years to unwanted lay offs

I just don't understand why the legal system allows people to be virtual slaves to promoters/managers. It just doesn't make sense.

Footballers seem to break their contracts all the time, how come fighters end up unable to fight because of a contract?

In this case they probably dont allow it, but the contract have never been tried in court. The two times that Palle have been in this situation the case have been settled a few days before the trial. Last time Dennis Holbæk bourght himself out of the contract for 1dkr (around 10 pence).

I'd like to see Larsen back. As everyone here can clearly see he was top notch. What a waste it would be for a talent like that to walk away with so much to offer.

I didn't agree with most of the posters who used to slate the Ottke decisions, but in the case of the Larsen fight I was flabbergasted

when it went Sven's way.

I seem to recall scoring about 9 or 10 rounds to Larsen.
