Its on in the afternoon over there so primetime over here, only problem is that makes it clash with the Quigg fight.

Its not a great fight but it does seem they clearly have a plan over in the states as well as over here for Frampton. Haymon on board and CBS will mean massive exposure and if he wins and looks good doing that will get the yanks on board.

It's great for Frampton to be getting this kind of exposure it's just a shame he won't be tested. Even the so called casuals who may have watched the Avalos fight on ITV will realize that this is a step backwards for Carl.

However, if it boosts his profile in the US and leads to bigger and better things then you can understand the decision from a personal stand point. Unfortunately, it means the fans lose out on what seems a bit of a foregone conclusion.

Frampton's headlining his own show in the afternoon, then Chavez Jr is headlining another show in the same venue in the evening. The schedule's listing them both as the same show but they're actually separate.

I won't pretend to know the demographics of the states but there are plenty of American-Irish over there, surely he has at least a reasonable chance of becoming a recognised name with a good following, especially if he has his fights in New York. I think he's good enough and entertaining enough to get the attention.

In an ideal world I'd be able to watch the Manchester card live switch over to ITV for Frampton and then watch the recorded ITV undercard + Abraham/Steiglitz after or next morning

I don't think this will be earning Carl very much at all after deductions. I remember the money on the table when Froch, Barker etc was on ITV and it wasn't fantastic.

Personally I don't see this "exposure" argument with ITV, I forget the last time i watched the station.

Most people that only use ITV are freeview users with no intention of laying out cash for subscription sports channels. It's all a red herring.

Just read ITV will be showing Framptons next defence from Texas against Alejandro Gonzalez. Great news and it is on at prime time in the UK which is a bonus. It said in the guardian that the Quigg v Martinez fight will be timed to follow Framptons so they're not clashing.

As much as I love watching Frampton and as good as it is to see him make his US debut,I'm just not really interested in this fight,I've never seen Gonzalez Jr before that I'm aware of but his records nothing to write about,I know this is about Carl introducing himself to America but I'm underwhelmed TBH
