Things you would have liked to have seen in boxing?

I would have liked to see Herol Graham win a world title for all his efforts.

I would have like to have seen Frank Bruno successfully defended his title in the UK rather than sell it out in America.

I would have loved to see Mike Tyson stay on the straight and narrow and beat Rocky's unbeaten run, and I truly believe he could have done that and become the best and most feared heavyweight of all time.

I would have loved to see Chris Eubank sparked out by a decent British boxer, such as Benn or Wharton, or even Herol Graham.

I don't think Tyson ever had the mental capacity or fortitude to beat Marciano's record, or be the most feared heavyweight of all time. He was always mentally fragile. Guys like Ali were on a different league in terms of mental strength - Ali would have never been intimidated by Mike - and that would have been Mike's undoing - if he couldn't intimidate someone - he had trouble.

I do think a peak Tyson was a sight to behold, but that peak was never going to last that long, he relied so much on speed and flexibility.

I completely agree with the above, massively intimidating but equally massively fragile mentally (Naz was the same on a much lower level - great arrogance however completely fell apart after one defeat).

Just because Ali was very media friendly and always had a quip with a twinkle in his eye we sometimes under estimate how absolutely determined, fearless, mentally strong, and at times downright nasty he could be.

I would have really liked to have seen:

Calzaghe test himself properly much earlier in his career.

Boxers being properly tested & penalised for PEDs.

Lennox knock the fvck out of Bowe like we all know he would have done.

Less weight classes and one champion per weight class.

One governing body, no promoters.

If you refuse to fight the top ranked fighter for any reason automatic suspension for a year.

The second is something I agree with.

I think that boxing would be a very different sport in nature however if that were the case - there would have to be more shorter fights, in order to make boxing like other individual sports. I think we'd end up with something more akin to amateur boxing - because boxing right now is about the grant event - and that is a direct consequence of both the nature of the sport, and it's historic association with promoters.

Hearns to of hung on and beat Leonard in the first fight , Tyson to of stayed away from don't king and stayed with you Rooney he wouldn't of had a long career because of his style but he should of made it to 28/30 unbeaten .

I wish auderly Harrison never went pro .......came across as a nice guy on big brother and I'm sure he'd rather be remembered as Olympics gold winner than getting Chinese a lot

The PBC fights have been great in the fact that we can generally watch them at a reasonable 9-10pm rather than 4.00am

That's top of my list Mimmy,i was truly heartbroken when he lost his first fight to Kalambay and i didn't believe he would make it after that,i thought he was unbeatable at the time,also i'd like one champ per weight division.

i personally think he did enough to edge the mccallum fight.

No. I agree I also would have liked to have seen him found not guilty of the crime so that we could have seen how he rebounded from the Douglas defeat.

Brodie winning a world title. Those 2 bouts with Chi really took it out of him.
