Re: flannigan vs zepeda
I haven't seen Zepeda before and he hasn't beaten anyone of note,Cayo and Frankel were the only names I recognised on his CV, I'm sure his team will be thinking the same about Flanagan, what is certain is that Zepeda can punch, and he's a switch hitter so Terry might not have the southpaw advantage
Its 50/50 for me,I fancy Flanagan's chances if it goes the distance
Its a great fight though and I can't wait, can't believe England have never had a world lightweight champion before

I think Terry will stop him late, that's if Zepeda makes weight.

Re: flannigan vs zepeda
Terry will do him on points but Zepeda can crack so he will have to come through some stick
Re: flannigan vs zepeda
Zepeda will be drained I think and Terry will tak over completely agree.palooka wrote:I think Terry will stop him late, that's if Zepeda makes weight.

Re: flannigan vs zepeda
I don't know much about either, or how good Flannigan is, but Zepeda looks a bit on the protected side - watched a couple of his knock overs and it seemed the opposition were more concerned with finding a soft spot on the canvas more than anything...plus he sticks his head up in the air and doesn't seem to have much in the way of a defence..
Maybe he's a lot better than he looks, and really carries power, but it'll be interesting to find out.

Re: flannigan vs zepeda
Both fighters make weight. Flanagan 9st 9lbs, Zepeda 9st 8lbs 8oz.

How did Zepeda look on the scales?
Re: flannigan vs zepeda
Looked in good shape, Terry noticeably taller though and looked the bigger man IMO.PredatorHayds wrote:How did Zepeda look on the scales?

Re: flannigan vs zepeda
Quick question. New to the forum, how do I reply like you did including other persons post?
I've told everyone who'd listen that Zepeda wouldn't make weight. Glad he's proved me wrong.
Terry I think will be one of those fighters that gets better being a world champion. He's always huge at the weight.
I really fancy him to win tomoz.

Re: flannigan vs zepeda
Zepeda appears to be a different class from what I've seen and I think he wins well here but hoping terry pulls it off. Good luck to him

Re: flannigan vs zepeda
I'm looking forward to this card tonight, really can't wait for the main event,I think it will be a cracker, the undercard is pretty thin as far as competitive fights go but I'm still looking forward to seeing Butler,Walsh,Catterall and Ustinov do their thing
There's about another 3 threads on Flanagan-Zepeda which I've already posted my (contrasting) thoughts on but I could really make a case for both guys
Ive decided to plump for a Zepeda KO win in the middle to late rounds but hope I'm way off

The win that sticks out for me is his Cayo knockout.handsofstone wrote:I'm looking forward to this card tonight, really can't wait for the main event,I think it will be a cracker, the undercard is pretty thin as far as competitive fights go but I'm still looking forward to seeing Butler,Walsh,Catterall and Ustinov do their thing

Cayo is a good fighter.
I can see either Zepeda KO or Flanagan points. Flanagans workrate is top drawer.

Re: flannigan vs zepeda
Cayo and Robert Frankel were the only names on Zepeda's slate that I recognised, Cayo was a decent fighter a few years ago but seems to lose a lot these days from what I've seen of him albeit against top opposition but he's always KO'd when beat so its hard to gaugePredatorHayds wrote:The win that sticks out for me is his Cayo knockout.handsofstone wrote:I'm looking forward to this card tonight, really can't wait for the main event,I think it will be a cracker, the undercard is pretty thin as far as competitive fights go but I'm still looking forward to seeing Butler,Walsh,Catterall and Ustinov do their thing

Flanagan has always impressed me and people who have worked with him have been banging his drum for a while now so hopefully he repays the faith they've shown and goes out and does a number on Zepeda
Its a terrific match up let's hope Terry delivers
Re: flannigan vs zepeda
I don't think I've seen Terry wobbled or hurt, if hue can keep his chin down and vital areas covered he'll mow Zepeda down late.
Re: flannigan vs zepeda
this looks like it could be a real cracker of a fight . i am going with the home fighter Flanagan (cough cough)
Re: flannigan vs zepeda
just flicked on who has been on so far?
Re: flannigan vs zepeda
Macaulay McGowan won on points, Joe Costello, Kallum De'Ath and Jon Kays all won before they went live.LancashireLoyal wrote:just flicked on who has been on so far?

How did Terry pass his Brain Scan?
Re: flannigan vs zepeda
Ustinov v Joshua would be educating
Re: flannigan vs zepeda
Ha, bit harsh! I've thought that about fighters before but now wonder how well I'd do in front of a camera, worse than Terry I reckon!Fuzzy Warbles wrote:How did Terry pass his Brain Scan?
