anyone know what the ABC NEWS segment featuring the footage between Quarry and Nuemann was about?
Do they have the entire fight in the ABC NEWS Archives?

The fight footage from Nuemann vs Kirkman(in the white trunks)
That was from a broadcast on the old FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS.
In seeing the footage some 40 years later, at first I thought it was Tex Cobb there.

I'd like to see that Quarry vs Nuemann fight.. I always admired JQ & his skills and guts. He came up in a time period with some of the best in the business meaning almost Great and Greatest.. They were all battling for the top rung and IMO that might of been one of the tuffest era's in the Heavyweight division...??? For some reason I am blanking on Nuemann I am sure I checked him out back then... Great tools!!!...but when you take a fighter like JQ who had so much more experience and especially with the champs, it's a tuff one to call.... Jerry just couldn't quite put it together for the title fights... to bad.. plus he cut to easy as I remember. I really dug Jimmy Young's style, "the spoiler" what a slick boxer, highly skilled and intelligent from what I remember and he could hit also, obviously no Marciano or Smokin Joe etc etc IMO but he was someone you didn't want to underestimate...

now I'll go back to the record books...study time....

I seem to remember back around 1975 when Duane Bobick was still an undeafted with a 32-0 professional record
Bobick was then matched with Randy Nuemann and going into that fight Nuemann was said
to have been Bobick's first real test so far.
Nuemann was described as a "Boxer-Puncher".

against Argentinian Heavyweight Reinaldo Raul Gorosito(and when the last time youve seen footage of him?)
-with audio commentery by Randy Nuemann.

I usually really like any of that old stuff, and Randy Neumann is painfully honest. Took on some really tuff guys. and some major leagues, namely Quarry, Bobick, Young, Kirkman, Wepner and gave a good account of himself, Was a take charge aggressive fighter (without the big sock) and did eventually make the top ten!

Hadn't seen that footage before. Looking at it Nueman was a very respectable heavyweight. Has also refereed over 300 fights. Including world titles.

Yes i'd seen it , and thanku for making it more attainable, One fallacy is Neumann was not ahead on any scorecards after the third round, 5-2, 5-2, 4-3 (Tony Perez) all for Quarry was they official scoring.

Here is one of the fights that Randy Nuemann refereed back in 1991.
Check out the one goober at the end who managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory!

according to the previous link to the newspaper article from the Chicago tribune.
Jim Bouton(author of BALL FOUR)
had did a three part series on ABC News about Randy Neumann.
each segment was 6 minutes in length.
I wonder why Randy Neumann just didnt put the entire broadcast on youtube?

Hello,

Regarding The Jerry Quarry vs Randy Neumann fight what you see on the upload is all that is available on that fight according to Randy Neumann. Not sure if he has his complete fight with Boone Kirkman he appeared pretty tight lipped about it when asked about additional footage on the fight.

Perhaps Jim Bouton has the entire fight on 16 mm film?
Because someone filmed it and it wasnt Randy Neumann,he was too busy in the ring.
