finally a good fight on sky

Post by mullenman »

It's been a long time since eddie has made a good fight on sky

not only quigg v kiko but corolla v perez should be two very good fights

I slag eddie off for his mismatch cards but this manchester card is top class so fair play

I see it for a hard night for quigg but i still think points victory

Yeah it's a very good card and I think we deserve more of these on regular Sky Sports.

Agree. Good night of boxing plus we have Frampton on ITV. Really tough fight for Quigg as Martinez is game as they come and teak tough. I fancy Quiggs size and fitness to see him through on points or late stoppage but it wouldn't surprise me if there is a few scares along the way. I don't know much about Perez so couldn't really comment there. I've always thought of Crolla as European level at best but maybe the occasion with the crowd on his side could give him that extra wee bit of drive and push him up a level.

I'm pissed right off

,about 2 months ago my Mrs asked me if I wanted to go away for a night,I asked when and I could've sworn she said "8th July", I said yes then she arranged it,a few days later she tells me " no I said the 18th". I knew straight away it was the big Manchester bill on Sky,then Frampton gets announced on the same night on ITV AND Ik Yang fights Cesar Rene Cuenca for vacant IBF LWW title on allegedly

I'm determined to get home early 1st thing Sunday morning to catch up but I'll be leaving the phone at home to avoid spoilers,

She's pissed off too coz I'm moaning about coming home early :witzend:

Head out early doors, get her on the cocktails, don't eat and carry her up to bed before relaxing in the hotel bar with a refreshing pint

Its a great weekend to stay in

Price v Teper Friday night
Yang v Cuenca + Donaire on the Saturday afternoon
Quigg v Martinez / Frampton v Gonzalez Jr Saturday night

4 cards, 4 channels.......its just a shame that Frampton is an afternoon show over there otherwise none of them would have clashed

Yeah he is great value, seems a nice grounded lad to.

Yeah I know the feeling and from what I read he has surprised even himself over the last 12 months.
Good luck to him :)

Quigg-Martinez I'm looking forward to,I love watching both guys they both love to sit down on their shots,i see this going the same way as Kiko's rematch with Frampton where Scott's quality and precision being enough to see him to victory, hopefully Quigg hasnt any ring rust and can get to work early because he doesn't want Martinez digging in his shots early,Quigg's definitely capable of stopping Kiko, especially with the spite he puts in his body shots,Martinez is a live opponent though and the toughest fight of Quigg's career so far

Perez-Crolla is another fascinating fight,is it too much too soon for Anthony? Its hard to say which is why I'm struggling with my prediction, I've seen a fair bit of Perez and he's a tough boxer who'll give anyone a hard night,he gave Gamboa some rough moments,Crolla is the better boxer but he's got to be able to weather some rough patches and he has apart from the first Derry fight managed to stand his ground always,if Crolla hasn't declined then I can see his heart and the crowd help him ,become world champ

Eggington defends his Commonwealth WW title against Foot in for me is a domestic FOTY contender, vacant British strap on the line too,Eggington seems to be getting better every fight and won't care about Foot's unbeaten record,Glenn's not had any momentum since winning Prizefighter for reasons known so its time to step up,I fancy Sam to keep on rolling though and he might even stop Foot in the championship rounds

Jenkins-Nurse for vacant British LWW title is another 50/50

Chris is another fighter who hasn't capitalised on winning Prizefighter, obviously the Limond fight got pulled then Nurse so again its time to step up,he's had plenty time to get ready for title level,if not for being put down by jabs in the opening 2 rounds against Ryan then Tyrone would've been Commonwealth champ,we know Nurse can do the 12 rounds comfortably but I dont think he's strong enough to keep Jenkins off and I think Chris wins a UD

4 50/50 fights :salut:
