British Cruisers

Post by PredatorHayds »

Just wondered who everyone thought the best British cruiser is.

I'd pick Ovill Mckenzie he seems to have improved massively. He even showed boxing ability against Askin.
I know Bellew beat Ovill twice at LH but Bellew looks stale at cruiser.

Afolabi would be my no1 but you could never write off McKenzie knocking him out early

I was surprised Kennedy didn't do a better job on Fry. He looks good in patches.

Crowd gets to him a bit in my opionion most have no knowledge of boxing and just shout hit him. When he is boxing and moving he is great he just trades in spells to please the crowd.

Be good to have big fights down Newport again.
He will be stepped up in the next year I reckon.
Can see Mckenzie vacating soon.

I can see Hearn putting him on a Selby bill and seeing how many tickets he sells, get him a British title then give him a few 'international opponents' to build the hype up even more and get him to headline the motorpoint on a tragic card. Like Warrington has for a while.
