How will Fury deal with the loss?
How will Fury deal with the loss?
Unlike most I'm not looking towards the Fury v Wlad fight.
Despite his constant protests about "being a fighting man" etc Tyson Fury is not a strong minded person.
We have all watched and been amused by his interviews but the truth is he is an erratic depressive and for this reson I fear for his well being after the Klitschko fight.
It's pretty obvious he is going to lose, probably by a harsh knock out.
I hope things work out for him in his life after boxing as he has been an entertaining big guy.
Sometimes there are things are more important than a boxing match.

Didn't know he had lost

Re: How will Fury deal with the loss?
You could well be right about the outcome but i'm sure the £3.5 to 5 million will help soften the blow afterwards.
From there he can decide what move to make next, time and money will be on his side.

But this is my point, I don't think the money will fix his mind.
Re: How will Fury deal with the loss?
Really? Realistically I think hes got a great chance of winning. Obviously I'd make Klitschko favourite but its far from the foregone conclusion you seem to suggest.Jon Saxon wrote:I want him to win but I'm being realistic.ste1983 wrote:Didn't know he had lost

out working Klitschko, granted its a massive ask and he'll need to avoid that right hand and keep Wlad out of his rhythm. Granted its a big ask, but its not totally inconceivableBoxerbeetle wrote:Realistically how do you see Fury winning?ste1983 wrote:

Re: How will Fury deal with the loss?
Only way I see him winning, is to establish the jab right from the off - and to keep Klitschko under pressure for the first half of the fight - the problem with that, is that this will force Wlad's hand and if Wlad lands anything flush, he's going to put Fury over, and most likely finish him off.ste1983 wrote:out working Klitschko, granted its a massive ask and he'll need to avoid that right hand and keep Wlad out of his rhythm. It's possible he could do it - but it would require 12 rounds of pretty much flawless boxing, and I don't really think fury is focussed enough, or good enough.
Re: How will Fury deal with the loss?
I wouldn't write Fury off. Wlad has to be the favourite but Tyson is a live underdog in this one. He needs to stick to his gameplan though and not get too gung-ho in there. I'm excited about this match.

Yes, I agree - he's a big underdog though, everyone is, Wlad is just so experienced, and so good at imposing his own gameplan, and so very focussed, that it is very hard for anyone to make a dent.Noxy wrote:I wouldn't write Fury off. Tyson struggles to stick to his gameplan when fighting geriatric cruiserweights.

Re: How will Fury deal with the loss?
To be fair, though. I never rated Chisora that highly. Yes, he was British champion. But by beating a 2000 year old Danny Williams.ste1983 wrote:

Losing to Klit was his career highlight, but it was still a loss.
Chisora had a hard head, and was difficult to knock out. But he wasn't exactly the most skilful boxer ever.
Fury's second win over Chisora was impressive, of course, even if his first win wasn't really. But I don't really see that as any real indication that Fury will be able to beat Klitschko.
Re: How will Fury deal with the loss?
It isn't unthinkable that Fury could pull this off. If I had to bet I'd be betting on Wlad but stranger things have happened to be fair. I wasn't that impressed with Klitschko against Jennings but against Pulev I thought he was excellent. Fury is big, strong awkward and Wlad won't be able to lean all over him like he likes to do. I'm looking forward to what I hope is an entertaining build up and fight.

As I said on another thread, I think Fury will retire after his ko loss to Klitschko. I don't want to speculate on his mental health, as it's impossible to say & not fair to guess. I wish him all the best though, he'll be set-up for life after this one.

Re: How will Fury deal with the loss?
Fury has a punches chance of winning you never know. There have been some upsets and in terms of British its a great opportunity for him. Its also a great opportunity for us as fans as we might get a decent domestic defence at Wembley.
Saying all that I cannot see Fury lasting and will most likely get stopped. Who cares? Fury? I doubt it as he will be wining and dining his bank manager. Fury is lucky as there is eff all around and hes getting a chance and going to earn well. If this was maybe 20 years ago he wouldnt be ranked in the top 20 so no realistic chance of a title shot. Not a fan of fury but hes got a punchers chance. Good luck to him, but im not expecting an open top caravan tour around the country.

Re: How will Fury deal with the loss?
If Fury was from a different country, we wouldn't be giving him a hope. He has less chance of beating wlad than hatton had with mayweather & Pacquiao.Noxy wrote:I wouldn't write Fury off. The gulf in class is huge, the difference in their quality of opponent is vast and general skill level is leagues apart.
I don't see one way that fury wins. 1/4 on wlad is all-in value like never before
Re: How will Fury deal with the loss?
The problem with your analysis is that Fury can't really punch. In my view his best chance is actually to try to box Wlad on the backfoot and use his height and reach advantage strange though that sounds. If he starts trading leather with Wlad he'll get sparked for sure. It will be interesting also how the fight goes on the inside. Fury is decent on the inside and Wlad won't be able to lean on him in the same way he could smaller fighters.mimmy123 wrote:Fury has a punches chance of winning you never know. Fury will handle the loss just fine. Too many people buy into the image he purposely portrays. It's pantomime.

Re: How will Fury deal with the loss?
I think people these days think a loss on a record will ruin your career. FFS Tyson can fall over and still get how many million? and still come back to make another million fighting AJ, Then another million fighting Mrs Jones the tarot reader. He aint no Rocky Marciano!stevieb_8006 wrote:Fury will handle the loss just fine. Too many people buy into the image he purposely portrays. It's pantomime.

Re: How will Fury deal with the loss?
On the question of how Fury will handle the loss, I think he'll be fine. He'll be getting a huge payday which is probably 10x more than anything else he's had before. He has openly said many times that he is only boxing for the money and even if he does lose (which to me is almost certain) he'll still be a leading player in the division with a number of big money domestic fights out there for him (Price, Joshua, Haye). A gallant losing effort will probably enhance his earning power. He's basically in the ideal position. Has nothing to lose.

He has to throw lots of shots, and not give Wlad a chance to get into a rhythm, but even that is an almost impossible task, at some point, Wlad will get him, or will simply time him, close the gap and take his jab away, in which case it's one way traffic. I can't see Fury actually outboxing Wlad, as he's the inferior boxer.
I find it hard to envisage any way fury wins, barring a freak injury or cut opening up on Wlad which stops the fight.
