Rocky Fielding v Callum Smith
Should this fight happen next, and most importantly who wins? Callum Smith would outbox him imo
Re: Rocky Fielding v Callum Smith
This is the British fight I'd most like to see. Fielding is so under-rated, he's pretty damn good, he can't hit and he can box a bit. Callum Smith could be anything I was really impressed with him last time.
I think it'd be a cracking fight and i wouldn't like to call it.

Re: Rocky Fielding v Callum Smith
before i would have said Smith wins convincingly but Rocky has show good power and speed but would need to keep Smith at range , in close Smiths Body work is good and he would need to get on top of rocky.
its a fight that id like to see but i doubt it will happen as Eddie says they are both going to get world title shots soon and wants it to be a nig fight in the future for Big Money ect ect ect .

Yeah. This fight won't happen any time soon, more's the pity.
Business wise it's the correct move though to be honest.
Re: Rocky Fielding v Callum Smith
its very rare to see 2 unbeaten guys from same stable fighting , it happens every so often if forced with purse bids with rival promotors for there guys to fight , like Groves Vs Degale.
Most of the time one its wait till one of them is beat and then put them in together.

I would really like to see this fight but I wont be happening for a while as we all know I'm sure.
Rocky is a hard hitter and has shown skills last 2 fights I have seen and Callum can box and is ruthless in close to the body, both scouse which adds a little something too.
Great fight that wouldn't go the 12. Callum for me though

I'd love to see this one. And I'll predict a Smith KO win whilst I'm on the topic.
But... part of me would be happy to wait. If Groves and Smith can both pick up world titles that would mean 3/4 major titles would be held in the UK. The they could all fight each other to effectively unify the division. I know it won't happen but a guy can dream right?

Callum Smith would destroy Rocky. Rocky can fight for 3 rounds and then gasses.

Re: Rocky Fielding v Callum Smith
Smith's lack of head movement could get him in trouble in this fight. Rocky punches hard enough to make him pay and it could make a technically simple fight a lot closer than it should be.
Smith on points with a knockdown or 3 shared.

Re: Rocky Fielding v Callum Smith
I'd like Rocky to beat Paul Smith first and then Callum to step in.
Re: Rocky Fielding v Callum Smith
This should happen this year. Probably nearer the end of the year. I think Smith would take it on points or late KO. Both guys want it so why not?

Re: Rocky Fielding v Callum Smith
If it doesn't happen what'll happen to the British title? Would one of them still be able to contest it?
Re: Rocky Fielding v Callum Smith
I think at the moment, Smith is moving to a different level than Rocky. Smith has just beaten a former EBU champion who lost his title to a "world" level fighter. Whereas Rocky seems to be at the British/Commonwealth level at the moment.
Re: Rocky Fielding v Callum Smith
According to the board its on for the British Septemebr 26th....which is the date thats been mentioned for a while now. I'd guess Hearn may try to get some sort of eliminator/intertoto belt added as well as the British.
The echo arena is free that day too, which is where you guess they'd hold it.

Re: Rocky Fielding v Callum Smith
They both seem to want the fight so dont see why it wont happen. Strike whilst the iron is hot i say, its not the end world if one loses to the other, they would still have plenty of time to achieve their goals. The fight would be massive, and the more fights that are made like this in Britain, the better it is for British Boxing. Just geeeet iiiiit oooooooooooon please lads
Re: Rocky Fielding v Callum Smith
I agree - it would be a great fight, the winner could move on to bigger and better things immediately and it will hardly be the end of the world for the loser who could still re-group and come again (or depending on the fight, have another good payday with a rematch).muffinman85 wrote:They both seem to want the fight so dont see why it wont happen. Re: Rocky Fielding v Callum Smith
Bellew v henandez

They can fornicate off if they think that's a PPV show. Mismatch main event, Smith-Fielding is a 50-50, great fight, don't even know what to expect from Price or Chisora at this stage and Butler isn't fighting Yafai.rio wrote:Bellew v henandez

Re: Rocky Fielding v Callum Smith
I agree but this card pisses over clev vs bellew. Warren probs wouldn't let the butler fight happen so swap that with a famous final eliminator for Stephen smithexpe wrote:They can eff off if they think that's a PPV show. Re: Rocky Fielding v Callum Smith
I keep under-estimating Rocky. But I'd pick Callum Smith to win. His body shots look very effective.
Would love to see Rocky against Paul Smith.
If he wins the Callum fight becomes bigger if you throw in the sibling rivalry.
Buglioni could throw a spanner in the works. If he beats Chudinov there will be a huge Queue of British Super middles trying to fight him.
