3 weight world champion.
Beat the likes of Sosa, Estrada and Soto.
He only fought that guy as a warm up before the Sosa fight.
Deserves to be in the P4P top 10. Great little fighter.

Too bad he didn't turn pro sooner. About 450? amateur wins, 2 time Olympic champ. Dominated Donaire, who was fighter of the year and #5 pfp. Roach said He was the most talented boxer He has ever seen.
He will be 35 soon. We need to appreciate guys like him, instead of bitch because his style is boring. Not his fault he is so much better than his competition.

They are both very skilled. With the size advantage, Loma should get a decision.
Re: Whos next for G.Rigondeaux?Opinions pls
With the elusiveness of Rigo It will not be a easy fight for loma . but thanksikorolev wrote:They are both very skilled. With the size advantage, Loma should get a decision.

His next opponent is probably some obscure fighter , maybe Japanese. He needs to to move up and fight at 126 maybe fight Lomachenko, if he wants to get that retirement house in Florida. By the way do you think he is older than what ever he stated age of I believe 34 ?

It's too bad Rigo isn't more active. I don't see the dullness -- just the brilliance.
His last bout in Japan was truly exciting!

but he holds two belts -- isn't that high reward?rzagza wrote:rigon is the most avoided guy in the sport for my money he is the absolute definition of super high risk low reward.

Not when if you fight him you will likely lose - and not get paid enough for suffering the damage that the loss will afford you.Cutman Scabbers wrote:but he holds two belts -- isn't that high reward?rzagza wrote:rigon is the most avoided guy in the sport for my money he is the absolute definition of super high risk low reward.

Not if he can't earn from them, he may as well have stayed amateur. He is a fantastic boxer and sublime counterpuncher and he could win the whole clutch of world titles and still not earn well.Cutman Scabbers wrote:but he holds two belts -- isn't that high reward?rzagza wrote:rigon is the most avoided guy in the sport for my money he is the absolute definition of super high risk low reward.

Isn't that confusing risk with reward?
The likeliness of losing is related to risk.
The pay is related to reward -- but so are the belts and recognition the first person to beat Rigo is going to get (if it ever happens).

I hear you but I believe we were talking about the reward for whoever fights Rigo -- not Rigo's reward.palooka wrote:Not if he can't earn from them, he may as well have stayed amateur. Maybe that's the key -- dropping down to bantamweight, which Rigo could do easily.

Re: Whos next for G.Rigondeaux?Opinions pls
I don't think it would be wise for Rigo to move up to featherweight.
If anything, go down to bantam.
Re: Whos next for G.Rigondeaux?Opinions pls
It appears that he is making a different move which will make Loma fight impossible:
