Seems Haye has left Fight Academy. Personally, I thought they seemed to be doing a good job with him. Any views on this? I'm not sure about Haye 'Co-promoting' himself, I'd prefer him to get on with the job of fighting and leave that side of it well alone.

Haye would benefit from exposure on ITV IMO - he is a heavy handed banger with looks for the ladies and is able to talk well, yet he has yet to establish cross over appeal.states wrote:www.secondsout.com/UK/news.cfm?ccs=228&cs=18445

This co-promoting bull5hit or whatever it is takes a fighter's eye off the job at hand - fighting.
Mega stars like Lennox, Naz and Roy Jones can just about get away with it thru their managment teams, but Haye should be worrying about putting in work building his stamina, defence etc, not negotiating ticket allocations, publicity and the like.

Frank Maloney has signed up David Haye - and revealed he is splitting from promotional partner allegedly.
Maloney, unveiled a three-year deal with the European cruiserweight champion at a London press conference on Thursday afternoon.
But it is his split with Warren that will cause the biggest stir. Maloney has been working as boxing consultant for Sports Network for the past five years.
But he has always worked with brother Eugene under the Maloney Promotions banner and revealed that although the split was "amicable", it had become impossible to share his commitments.
"allegedly had allowed me to work with my brother but as he wants to grow and develop the company for me to work between the two was an obvious conflict of interest," he said.
"So Frank agreed to release me to work full-time with Maloney Promotions. I still remain on good terms with him - I had five years in his office and it's taught me a lot.
"If I can deliver 25 per cent of what I learned with Frank then I'll feel I've improved as a promoter."
Maloney will stay on as manager for a number of Sports Network fighters, including Scott Harrison, and has promised to support both fighters and the company, but only in a managerial capacity.
"My fighters who are under contract to Sports Network will remain with them and I'll continue to give 100 per cent to those fighters and to Sports Network, purely as a manager," he said.
"Frank is still the number one promoter and I feel he'll stay number one for a while. We're not looking to have wars with any other promoters out there. It's better to negotiate than have wars."
His first move was to unveil Hayes, who believes he can follow the footsteps of Maloney's most famous fighter, Lennox Lewis, and make it all the way to a world title.
Maloney Promotions have also signed British light-middleweight champion Jamie Moore and this year's ABA featherweight runner-up Akaash Bhatia.
