MALONEY SPLITS FROM WARREN

Frank Maloney has signed up David Haye - and revealed he is splitting from promotional partner allegedly allegedly.

Maloney, unveiled a three-year deal with the European cruiserweight champion at a London press conference on Thursday afternoon.

But it is his split with Warren that will cause the biggest stir. Maloney has been working as boxing consultant for Sports Network for the past five years.

But he has always worked with brother Eugene under the Maloney Promotions banner and revealed that although the split was "amicable", it had become impossible to share his commitments.

"allegedly allegedly had allowed me to work with my brother but as he wants to grow and develop the company for me to work between the two was an obvious conflict of interest," he said.

"So Frank agreed to release me to work full-time with Maloney Promotions. I still remain on good terms with him - I had five years in his office and it's taught me a lot.

"If I can deliver 25 per cent of what I learned with Frank then I'll feel I've improved as a promoter."

Maloney will stay on as manager for a number of Sports Network fighters, including Scott Harrison, and has promised to support both fighters and the company, but only in a managerial capacity.

"My fighters who are under contract to Sports Network will remain with them and I'll continue to give 100 per cent to those fighters and to Sports Network, purely as a manager," he said.

"Frank is still the number one promoter and I feel he'll stay number one for a while. We're not looking to have wars with any other promoters out there. It's better to negotiate than have wars."

His first move was to unveil Hayes, who believes he can follow the footsteps of Maloney's most famous fighter, Lennox Lewis, and make it all the way to a world title.

Maloney Promotions have also signed British light-middleweight champion Jamie Moore and this year's ABA featherweight runner-up Akaash Bhatia.

Well I remember the Franks saying the partnership would "last as long as it lasts for" and I didn't expect it to run for as long as it has AND for the split to be amicable.

Hopefully this will mean they are prepared to pit their boxers against one another (I'm thinking Haye-Maccarinelli 8) )

Not entirely surprised by this move, let's hope it is good for British Boxing though in the long run. Bit surprised Haye has joined up though, wasn't he with Fight Academy before? They delivered him some good fights and a European title shot.

Well done to Maloney, got his promotional legs back under him. Not been to many Maloney shows in recent times, but those I did attend I thoroughly enjoyed, great atmosphere, decent domestic fights and packed houses.

Got to be good for British boxing having more promoters, and it's not THAT surprising that Haye went with Maloney, it's not like Maloney is some newcomer who doesn't know shit from shinola after all. He did wonder for Lennox Lewis, and its arguable whether Lewis would ever have gotten where he did without him.

For sure. Haye and Booth will Drive them mad with their demands.

The only could thing that may happen is Eugene beating up Booth

Why did Waterman and Co not pull the Euro fight if they knew he was on his last contracted bout? Very odd? They should have said "agree or F-Off" before they allowed the Gurov fight to go ahead.

Still, they can't complain, what goes around and all that!

Fancy allowing FM to take your trousers down on his first day on the Job!

In the end it didn't really matter where it was! The fans wouldn't have got value for money if it was at the MGM Grand! I hope the fans didn't make their selves too comfortable!
