Price v Tepper
Price v Tepper
So who are we picking in this one then?
I'm really hoping Price wins this. He's a nice fella and a good boxer with outstanding power. Obviously his chin and stamina are major concerns the higher up the ladder he gets but that only makes him more exciting to watch.
My thoughts: Price KO/TKO within 6 rounds. If it goes any longer than that Teper late KO/TKO.

Re: Price v Tepper
Unless Price is broken, then he should win this imo. Teper is nothing great and Price has enough to win pretty comfortably imo.

Re: Price v Tepper
I'm expecting a big performance from Price. If this fight had been instead of Thompson I, we'd all be expecting a Price KO, probably within 3.
Obviously, Price has lost a lot of confidence and his last few performances haven't been fantastic. Hopefully, he wins big and we get to see him back full of confidence and ready for some big UK fights.

Re: Price v Tepper
Interesting fight. Price does most things better and has a good size advantage, but Teper is the persistent, strong bully type who I think could be trouble, and despite being flabby I suspect that he has the superior engine. Price should be able to outbox him for the better part of the fight and if he can't cope with the power it could be over quickly, but I won't be surprised if Teper goes through some rough patches and ends up coming back to grind Price down later on.

I'm rooting for Price but not sure he will win.
I think it's a 50-50 fight, one that's 98% likely to end in a KO.

Re: Price v Tepper
I really hope Price beats Teper on Friday and looks good in doing it,he seems in the mood for a fight and I hope we see him get to work a bit quicker than he has been since the Thompson KO's, I'm still a big believer in David becoming a top level fighter but I would've liked him to have been back on the horse sooner but at least he's here,a European title shot against a solid competitor in Teper, let's hope he grabs it with both hands
I've seen a bit of Teper and he's alright, getting Sprott and Rogan out in a round apiece is good going but I think if Price lands first then he'll finish him ,I still say it could go the distance and if it does I still feel David can win

Price on points. Most of the time he's in control, but is shaken a few times. Get your quids on it.

This is won or lost on confidence, if Price doesn't believe in himself or the gremlins set in he'll lose.
He has the tools to win impressively, so I hope he comes in on top of his game.

I doubt Pricey has really got his confidence back, though most won't agree I think this has come too soon - this big lump will presumably know that it might only take a couple of clubs to put more doubt in Price's mind, and I think he's going to overwhelm Price and could be curtains.
Of course I'll be rooting for DP, and really hoping he lands big early to stop Tepper getting too brave.

Re: Price v Tepper
I think if he hasn't got his confidence back by now he never will have. It's been over 2 years now since the last Thompson defeat and given that he's now 32 (agree that's not particularly old in the heavyweight division) they need to test the waters a bit and this could be the ideal fight to do that. A loss here surely puts paid to his world title chances but I think they have to take the risk. A win puts him right in the mix.MightyWarrior wrote:I doubt Pricey has really got his confidence back, though most won't agree I think this has come too soon - this big lump will presumably know that it might only take a couple of clubs to put more doubt in Price's mind, and I think he's going to overwhelm Price and could be curtains.

Re: Price v Tepper
yeah I agree, though it's a bit of a catch 22, as I don't think he'll get his confidence back until he wins a meaningful fight, as I doubt the tepid fights he's been involved in since TT will have boosted it much, if at all.
So can't really argue it's sink or swim time, just be more confident if he'd had decent KO win since.

Re: Price v Tepper
Well I guess this is his "meaningful fight" isn't it. Teper is no superstar but he is sort of a gatekeeper between European and World level. If he gets through this I think a fight with someone like Chisora would be a decent option. I know Del Boy got battered by Fury last time but he's still a big name and that'd sell well in Liverpool.MightyWarrior wrote:yeah I agree, though it's a bit of a catch 22, as I don't think he'll get his confidence back until he wins a meaningful fight, as I doubt the tepid fights he's been involved in since TT will have boosted it much, if at all.

Re: Price v Tepper
I'm really looking forward to this. I see it as a 50/50 fight.
I like how calm Price looks in the ring now. Doesn't rush, and he's still got that huge punch.
I'm going Price KO between 8-12

David Price vs Erkan Teper
That's this weekend, isn't it?
Can Price do it? His confidence seems pretty shot these days, this could be do or die for him really.
He's clearly not world level, can he make it at European level?

Very good fight this, should give us a big indication to whether Price is back in the mix. Will surely have his chin checked. Just hope he can come through this and show us all he's still a talent. Best of luck to the big man.
Re: Price v Tepper
I was going to go and watch the fight in the pub, probably won't now. My last visit to the scales was a horror story.
Probably just watch Frampton on ITV.

Re: Price v Tepper
Four HW fights on the card, not exactly good fights, bar Price vs Teper, but a decent nights viewing for boxing fans. Paul Butlin is on the undercard against unbeaten German Franz Rill.
I'm not a fan of the women's boxing but looks like they will show the ladies fight live as well.
A decent warm up show for this weekends fights though

Re: Price v Tepper
I'm getting quite excited by this fight, got feeling that David Price is going to be back on track after this. Do like a decent boxing card on a Friday night. Interesting that Teper's number 18 on the BoxRec HW rankings, whilst David Price (bookmakers favourite) is 27th. But logically I can't see the Sauerland team matching him badly at this stage of his management deal, and some people on here have pointed out that Teper often carries a lot of bulk. On paper Teper's cv looks pretty impressive though. Don't know much about him, but he took up professional fighting quite late, making debut at 28. Wish Price well, comes across as a down to earth fellow whenever he's interviewed.

Re: Price v Tepper
is Teper really 6,5" and heavier than Price?! im amazed by that he doesn't look it from Youtube!
Re: Price v Tepper
Teper is carrying a fair bit of timber around the belly but in terms of frame he looks much lighter than Price. Price looks in good shape. I think he'll win this one by mid round stoppage now unless he gets tagged by a big shot.LancashireLoyal wrote:is Teper really 6,5" and heavier than Price?! im amazed by that he doesn't look it from Youtube!
