I agree - Bute was one along with Jermaine Taylor and Pascal (and even Arthur Abraham at the time who is mega tough) where I thought that Froch would lose.

They were all tough fights against top tough boxers in their prime and he beat them all.

When he fought Rueben Groewnwald I never thought he would get very far. I was a massive critic of his but man did he win me over with the Pascal fight. He's been a great fighter and in my opinion a british legend. Would give anyone a tough night. Strong, determined, tough and fit as fornicate. Good luck to him and I hope he stays retired, seems to have invested wisely.

After Calzaghe's long WBO reign against a lot of poor opposition Froch's entry into the Super Six almost straight off the bat was a breath of fresh air. It's nice to see a modern day career where there are so few ifs and buts. Would pick Calzaghe to beat him though.

Almost every one of us on here would pick Calzaghe to box rings round Froch - and yet, EVERY one of us would look at the two and say that Froch had the better career - and I suspect, in his quieter moments, that includes Calzaghe himself.

You've a good point. Despite doing things 'the hard way' Froch has actually made that side of it look a doddle. Good for him. And he was giving and taking many a thrashing BEFORE he became a star of the sport, so he won't have been on the mega bucks. I suspect that not being an incredible bell end was a factor that helped Carl to hold on to much of his money.
This is a guy that worked as a clerk for ntl for a good while, getting not much money and he was happy to do it, so he's not as big headed as he pretends sometimes.
I'd like to leave a little plug for his book. It also don't forget reminds us of a guy who got over some bad injuries on several occasions.

Yeah I remember that pic too. Black and blue it was. I think he tore his bicep, the muscle itself or too the ligament off it I don't know. I think he showed it in response to someone saying stuff about why he wasn't fighting them.

He got his knee scanned once and his ACL wasn't there. It just never showed up - he'd snapped it a few years earlier playing 5-aside football with his friends but hadn't realised.

There was something about the provided glove, apparently he wasn't happy that the thumb wasn't sewn down to the mitt. It was in the Maloney contract though I believe that they had to wear them as it was his show.
